The criminal case against Ben Gordon — a former star basketball player at the University of Connecticut and first-round NBA draft pick who was facing multiple charges stemming from an outburst at a local juice shop in the hours after the Huskies won the National Championship in 2023 — was dismissed on Monday. Gordon appeared in state Superior Court in Stamford where the case was dismissed after his successful completion of a supervised diversionary program.
Former UConn and NBA star Ben Gordon was scheduled to be in court Tuesday after a recent arrest in Stamford. But the 40-year-old never showed up for court. Gordon was arrested two weeks ago on his birthday.
The brand new Teen Center at the Boys and Girls Club of Stamford officially opened with a basketball shootaround Friday morning — with a former NBA star on hand to help get things started. Boston Celtics guard Delonte West appeared in a Stamford courtroom Tuesday morning and had a motor vehicle summons from May dismissed because of what his attorneys called a paperwork mix-up with his car registration. West, 28, of Brandywine, Md., made his brief appearance with two attorneys at state Superior Court in Stamford, where prosecutors nolled a motor vehicle summons for improper use of vehicle registration. According to West's court file, Connecticut State Police Troop G issued him a misdemeanor summons at 11:30 p.m. on May 12 at the Darien rest stop off the southbound lanes of Interstate-95.
