Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green took umbrage with the technical foul he picked up from an official during Friday’s game against the Detroit Pistons, arguing with veteran official J.T. Orr throughout the first half. “I find it very ironic that I got a technical foul for telling a Caucasian referee not to put his hand in my face,” Green said of an interaction with Orr. “As a Black man in America, don’t put your hand in my face. And I said, ‘Hey, don’t put your hand in my face.’ And I got a tech. “So I thought that was the most interesting thing of the night. Next to my bobblehead.”

“He said, ‘Draymond, this is your chance to stop talking to me!’ (I responded) ‘Bro, don’t put your hand in my face,’ ” Green said. “ ’Oh, tech.’ Oh, so everybody want to talk about holding the line of respect. That line need to be held both ways. “So if the line won’t be held both ways, then the line won’t be held from my way either, because we’re all men and we all can make decisions and choices. So let that be the last time that that happens.”

NBA Official: Kevin Cutler is not available to officiate tonight’s game between Golden State and Minnesota due to weather-related travel issues. He will be replaced by Sean Wright.

Austin Krell: The NBA ruled that Tyrese Maxey's layup at the end of regulation was, indeed, a goaltending. Huge miss in the moment, but the Sixers ultimately did not pay for it.

Duane Rankin: "Just the name." Dillon Brooks on techs as NBA rescinding his latest one from Tuesday's loss at Miami. "I think those refs in that game was taking it personal. That game is over with. I hope they learned from it and do their studying because refs in this league got to get better." NBA-leading 13 techs midway point of season. 16th tech = 1 game suspension. On avoiding suspension: "Locking in on what I need to do and taking ownership of myself and accountability of myself to control my emotions."

Brown said he has studied officiating so that he knows where refs are supposed to be and who’s supposed to make each call. He said he has also studied all the players who get to the free-throw line the most. It bothers him that he feels like he doesn’t get the same whistle as those guys. “I do the same things that they do,” Brown said. “They just pick and choose who they like to call it on. That’s the part that pisses me off. It should just be everybody should just get reffed evenly and consistently, but it just seems like there’s an agenda where some guys they choose to call certain fouls for, some guys they don’t. So I don’t know what goes into that decision-making, but it’s kind of clear that certain guys on certain teams, certain markets or certain profiles get preferential treatment versus others when it should just be basketball.”

“I think the analytics show that our team is dead last (in free-throw attempts),” Brown said. “And it feels like inconsistencies as well. So I want them to — hopefully they put some time in and review it. But I feel like defenders and stuff are getting away with a lot, and it makes my job a lot harder.”
Mike Curtis: Asked Mavs associate head coach Frank Vogel for his interpretation of Jason Kidd's ejection: "We were trying to challenge a play. They inbounded the ball before we could. We thought we had the right to challenge. He and Scott (Foster) got into it. That led to the ejection."

Oh No He Didn't: Giannis on the lack of whistle he's been getting this season: "If I fall on the floor usually somebody push me or somebody hit me in my face. My coaches tell me hey man you're so hard to be officiated. You're having the shot treatment like they foul you and they don't call nothing you just play through contact. I had a basket which I thought in my opinion thought it was and one. Coming down I get pushed...why is that not called?"

Bill Kennedy, one of the NBA’s most prominent officials, left Friday’s Orlando Magic-Philadelphia 76ers game in a wheelchair after suffering what appears to be a serious leg injury. The incident happened with two minutes and 38 seconds left in the first quarter. As Kennedy ran down the floor on a 76ers fast break, he started limping as if he suffered a non-contact injury.

Jay King: Jaylen Brown: "I kind of let the officiating get to my head a little bit.

According to the NBA’s 2-minute report, the officials missed a foul on Orlando in the closing seconds last night. They admit foul should have been called on Anthony Black raking Jamal Murray’s arm. pic.twitter.com/lsGPyeMXgR
