The Heat also believes a five-second violation should have been called on the Magic with Orlando ahead by two points and 18.5 to play. But the officials ruled that Magic coach Jamahl Mosley called a timeout before the five seconds were up. “That’s what’s frustrating about it, because we get fined if we say something about it,” Adebayo said. “But that altered the game. When you alter the game, you should have to, like, stand on that. Because when we mess up, when we make mistakes, when we miss stuff, all hell breaks loose on us. We got people blaming us for everything. And then on the other side, I felt like they had a five-second call that wasn’t called. That altered the game.”

Jason Beede: “You win as a team and you lose as a team. And these guys are just putting it together,” #Magic coach Jamahl Mosley said. Mosley mentioned Orlando believes in one another and trusts in one another. He added: “We’ve just got to keep finding ways to win one game at a time.”

Windhorst on the Banchero-Mosley back-and-forth: "We have a guy on a $200 million contract and the head coach at open odds with each other. It's not in the shadows anymore. It's now wide out into the open."

Jason Beede: The #Magic have downgraded Anthony Black (right quad contusion) from Probable to Questionable for tonight’s game against the Wizards. Orlando coach Jamahl Mosley said Black did not go through shootaround this morning and he will “most likely not go tonight.”

Jason Beede: #Magic coach Jamahl Mosley said Anthony Black (right quad contusion) "was not able to do anything" during Monday practice. Mosley said Black was on the floor after practice taking some free throws, passing the ball to teammates shooting. But Black didn't go through any contact.

Maxime Aubin: Jamahl Mosley talks about Noah Penda’s development curve: “Our coaches were just in the locker room talking about it, about what he’s capable of bringing defensively, his versatility, the fact that he can defend multiple positions. For the future, the idea is simply for him to keep simplifying his game. When he’s open, we want him to take and make his shots. If he’s not, we want him to move the ball or attack the rim and make the simple, quick decision. He’s going to keep progressing because he cares a lot about what he does, because he studies the game a lot. And I think his teammates trust him.”

There’s been some national noise about your relationship with Jamahl [Mosley, head coach]. You guys talked about frustration during the season and this losing streak. What’s your relationship like with him, and how has he helped you guys? Paolo Banchero: Yeah, I mean, he helps us a lot. He’s helped me a lot. We have a lot of open communication. Whatever those reports are, I wouldn’t say those are true in my opinion. One thing I know about myself, and about him — we’re both fierce competitors. So when you’re losing a lot of games and stuff’s not going well, people are upset. But me and him haven’t had any blowups or arguments or gone back and forth. We’re pretty aligned when we talk to each other, trying to figure stuff out. Now, that’s not saying when we lose four or five in a row, I’m not pissed off or he’s not pissed off. But in terms of our relationship, I think it’s been good since I got here. Obviously, as a team, we need to keep improving — I’ve been vocal about that, and he understands that. We all understand that. So, I don’t think anything I’ve said or he’s said isn’t already known within the team and the organization. Those reports — I don’t know where that’s coming from. I don’t know if you guys are putting that out — you know what I’m saying? So if it’s not you guys, who could that be coming from? It is what it is. But I think winning cures all. The more we win, the quieter those reports will be.

Jason Beede: Pre-game in Miami I asked #Magic coach Jamahl Mosley about Tim MacMahon’s comments on an ESPN podcast that he and Paolo Banchero “might not be seeing eye-to-eye.” “Yeah, I don’t really have reactions to that,” Mosley said. “I think that’s outside opinion…”

Jason Beede: I only saw #Magic forward Franz Wagner riding a stationary bike near the end of shootaround in Miami, and Orlando coach Jamahl Mosley told the @orlandosentinel that’s what he did this morning. Mosley told me Wagner would go through some standstill shooting after shootaround.
