Is there a specific player or instance that stands out to you because the player was so scared? Kobe Bryant: Hmmm. Let me see… Well, we had a player in training camp actually named [Mickael] Gelabale. He was a young player, but he had been in the league before. He joined us for training camp and I could tell he was really nervous. We’d had a little altercation when he was playing for Seattle and now he was in training camp with me on the Lakers and he’s face-to-face with me every day, knowing that I hadn’t forgotten what happened and that I was never going to forget. I don’t forget that stuff. I could tell that he was really, really nervous and I made it a point to make his training camp absolute hell.

Despite a great season in Russia and a great summer with your national team you are still free agent. You are looking for a contract just in a high-level Euroleague team or you are also interested in going back to the NBA? Mickael Gelabale: I am looking for both. I feel I can play in one of the Euroleague top teams and also have a chance back in the NBA. I am just waiting for a good team and good offer to come.
Mickael Gelabale: On a personal level, Gelabale is an active member of the French national team, but he is also a free agent. What will be his future and how’s that is affecting him? “I was not in a hurry during the summer. Ι have self confidence and I wanted to play in the World Cup in order to prove that I am in great shape. NBA is always on my mind, but I also know that my agent is in talks with a big European club. But this can wait for now. We have a semifinal in a few hours”.

Two possessions later, Parker drove right into traffic, into the hands of Rodriguez. Off went Calderon, into the corner, a shot curling through the air, as the buzzer prepared to sound. Collet, like everyone, just watched and gasped. "You just hope," he thought. "For sure, we could lose it." But this time, they did not. When overtime ended, the weight of past failure was lifted off French shoulders. Mickael Gelabale offered Diaw a high five. Not enough, he thought. The pair embraced. And then, as a team, they went into a huddle, as Spanish heads bowed around them. Diaw spoke up. "Yes," he said, "be happy we're going to the final. But now we've got one more important game." For a few minutes, before thoughts turned to Lithuania, they soaked up the moment and savored the slaying of their nemesis. And why not? "We finally beat this team," Batum smiled. "This team have given us so many nightmare, breaking our dream every time. We wanted this win, we wanted this game. We finally did it."
Mickeal Gelabale is a new player of Khimki Moscow, as Sportando anticipated last Saturday. The French forward has played with Minnesota Timberwolves last season and shortly with Valencia.
