Kimberly Hicks, the mother of Justin Johnson, a starting forward at Donda Academy, on Thursday told USA TODAY Sports the team practiced that morning. She also said the team's head coach, Dorell Wright, told her the team plans to play during the upcoming season. “I trust Dorell Wright by making a decision for the boys,’’ Hicks said.

Dorell Wright announces retirement from basketball


Veteran guard Dorell Wright announced his retirement from basketball at the age of 34. Wright has spent 12 seasons in the NBA. He played six years for the Miami Heat, winning a championship in 2006, then he had stints with Golden State, Philadelphia, Portland and again Miami in the 2016 playoffs.
