The Suffolk County District Attorney has dropped the charges against a Rhode Island-based NBA trainer accused of drugging and raping a woman at a Boston hotel in November. Suffolk County police and Crime Stoppers said Friday a man stole more than $1,100 in sports trading cards during two separate trips to a Huntington Station Target on the same day in October. Police released photographs of the suspect taken from video surveillance at the Target store at 124 E. Jericho Tpke.
Suffolk County District Attorney Thomas Spota said outside court that Kidd could have received three years' probation, but a better alternative was reached. "He's a role model to kids and other people. And he's going to have the opportunity to talk to them about the foolish mistake that he made and the fact he took responsibility for his actions," Spota said outside court. "That is for me more important than three years' probation."
