The 2003 No.1 overall pick revealed this during a dinner outing in New York with his wife, Savannah, Miami Heat and former Cleveland Cavaliers big man Kevin Love and his wife, Kate, among others. One of the dinners guests posted a snippet on Instagram of the conversation where James can be heard saying, “Savannah wants me to f–king retire in the next year or so.” His agent, Rich Paul, told ESPN that while LeBron “appreciates the partnership” with the Lakers, he “values a realistic chance of winning it all” and will be closely monitoring the team’s offseason moves.

It remains to be seen if James will reach season No. 24 or beyond. James went out to dinner in New York City this past week with his wife, Savannah; Miami Heat big man Kevin Love and his wife, Kate; and other confidants, and one of the dinner guests posted a snippet of the night to Instagram where James can be heard saying, "[Savannah] wants me to f---ing retire in the next year or so." As Paul laid out, it remains to be seen how much of his playing future will remain with the Lakers -- despite what James has said in the past.

One random afternoon, LeBron James was just busy showing off his new tracksuit on Instagram. Savannah was sitting right beside him and she decided to ask The King about their plans for their upcoming wedding vow renewals. James shrugged off the topic and started laughing at his wife. It was a huge mistake. Savannah rolled her eyes when LeBron almost mockingly told her that they “could do whatever you want.” Mrs. James obviously didn’t like LeBron’s tone and the fact that he kept filming their mini squabble. It was at that point that Savannah decided to smack LeBron’s phone right off his hand.

Monday night at his 35th birthday party, he found another opportunity to bring teammates together. James wasn’t sure he was going to have a party, but he decided to go for it, with the help of his wife, Savannah. “Got an opportunity to kill two birds with one stone, and not only make it my birthday party but have the feel of a New Year’s party as well,” James said. “For obvious reasons we won’t be able to celebrate tonight how we would if we didn’t have to play tomorrow. …”

At Harlem's Fashion Row gala in lower Manhattan on Sept. 4, where James was the honoree, he delivered an impassioned speech about the influence of the women in his life; his mom, Gloria, and Savannah were there and were the subject of his talk. "We have been down since high school. I listen to a lot of rap music, and a good friend of mine said, 'You wasn't with me shooting in the gym,'" he said, referencing a line by Drake about Kobe Bryant that suggests Bryant's then-estranged wife, Vanessa, did not deserve half of Bryant's fortune in a divorce settlement because she didn't earn it. (The two remain together.) From the stage, James looked at his wife and said, "But in all actuality, Savannah was with me shooting in the gym when I [had] absolutely nothing."

Then some days he’s just very tired. You never know. He’s not really eating a lot. I go over every day. Today I took a bunch of food from home to see if I could make him eat that. He’s doing pretty well. He’s in a really good place. He was starting to get really bad at home, and I couldn’t take care of him anymore because he was falling.
