Minnesota Timberwolves PR: In Bosnia and Herzegovina's 103-78 win over Hungary, @Luka Garza tallied 10 points on 5/8 shooting and 5 rebounds (4 offensive boards). With the win, Bosnia and Herzegovina will play Israel in the semifinals on Friday at 1:30 pm CT.
France got the 78-74 win over Hungary, however, the way the Olympic silver medalists played didn’t satisfy themselves first and foremost. In the video series of the French basketball federation, which chronicles the team’s effort in the Eurobasket, a clip is included with very harsh words by team captain Evan Fournier.
Speaking to his teammates, he says: “ Why do you frown? We have a game to win. What is this? We played badly. We can talk about the referees, and the opponents, but between us what is this brothel? This is how things are…Why we played yesterday? Cause you liked it? Why we didn’t play this night? Because we played against Hungary? This game goes to the trash can and we leave this behind us. But never again. Never again. This is not us”.

Hungary battled back from a 15-point deficit against France but ultimately it was not enough and the Hungarians suffered their third defeat in EuroBasket 2022. It was not the only bad news for the team after the match. Adam Hanga revealed that he probably played his last game in the tournament. "Even before the time I missed, there was a moment when I pulled my hamstring again. I didn't play the last game against Slovenia because I pulled it against Bosnia [and Herzegovina] and we were trying to recover for this game," Hanga told.
Hungary plays a great first half and tries to come back in the last minutes of the game in Cologne, but France first pushes in the third quarter (25-14) and then keeps its nerves steady, winning 78-74 thanks to a great display by Rudy Gobert: 15 points and 9 rebounds, with 6/9 from the field.

Luka Doncic had 20 points, seven rebound and seven assists in 19 minutes of action and didn’t have to do anything else. Slovenia got the 103-88 win over Hungary and now it’s tied with Germany at 2-0 on the top of “Group of Death”, followed by France (1-1) and Bosnia (1-1), while Lithuania and Hungary dropped to 0-2.
Blowing out the game in the third quarter, Lithuania strolled past Montenegro, 90-73. Elsewhere in the 2023 FIBA World Cup Qualifiers Group K, Hungary claimed the win, 82-79, against the Czech Republic on the road Saturday. Playing at Zalgirio Arena, the team coached by Kazys Maksvytis, who is also the play-caller of Zalgiris, dropped 32 points in the third period turning a close game into a walk in the park. Domantas Sabonis of the Sacramento Kings paved the way with 15 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists en route to the game-high efficiency rating of 24. Fellow NBA big man and captain, Jonas Valanciunas posted a 12-point, 14-rebound double-double. Panathinaikos OPAP newcomer Marius Grigonis logged a team-high 16 points as his side improved to 7-1 in the group.
Jonas Valanciunas took over down the stretch as Lithuania overcame Hungary 88 – 78 thanks to a 2 – 11 late run. The New Orleans Pelicans big man completed the game with 17 points plus eight rebounds while Domantas Sabonis had 17 points as well.
Tomas Satoransky scored 17 points, four more players scored in double digits and the Czech Republic got the 103-83 win over Hungary in the last game of the VTG Supercup tournament in Germany.

It’s 2013, and Rodney McGruder is alone in Hungary. The Miami Heat guard was then a 22-year-old recent graduate of a Kansas State Wildcat program designed by Frank Martin to physically and mentally break those who participate. He’s exhausted from the first leg of his club team’s (Atomerőmű SE) grueling practice regimen, wondering why he’s halfway across the world, thousands of miles from his family, just about as far from the NBA’s radar as anyone who’s already tasted that lifestyle can possibly be. A few months prior, after he was cut by the Oklahoma City Thunder, those close to him said get your money. They warned him about the D-League’s inability to offer a competitive wage, and advocated against that as an option. Playing overseas, though, was.
Hungary confirmed to McGruder just how badly he wanted to be in the NBA. The experience reaffirmed his love for the game, and doubled as something he wouldn’t trade for the world while not wanting to endure it ever again. McGruder’s agent kept telling him NBA teams were watching. That he was on their radar. But it never seemed that way. Only six months removed from being named first-team All-Big 12, McGruder felt like his basketball relevance was already dangling by a fingernail. “The one thing that came to my mind when I was over there was ‘what are you doing? This wasn’t your dream. Chase your dream. Don’t lose sight,’” McGruder remembers. He instructed his agent to find him a spot in the D-League next year, closer to family, his home, and the attention of all 30 NBA organizations. No matter what.

I will ask them to let me play for Italy” Gallinari told Tuttosport.
