Word is that Portland fully expects Lillard to return next season from the Achilles tear he sustained in April 2025 to potentially join Jrue Holiday in its starting backcourt... With Henderson in the mix as well. How all the pieces fit together remains to be seen, but it's likewise expected that the Blazers will field plenty of external trade interest in Holiday in coming weeks and months.

Sean Highkin: Jrue Holiday on Scoot Henderson: "I think when Scoot got comfortable, you saw what he's capable of and that's the tip of the iceberg. Him getting a full season of being healthy ... I think he has a bright future."

Sean Highkin: Jrue Holiday, asked if he sees himself being here next year: "I hope so. I don't like being traded and moved. I like being a part of something and building."

Dybantsa got a head start on having his body ready for the physicality at the next level while at BYU, working with the director of strength and conditioning and sports science, Michael Davie, who previously won a championship in a similar role with the Milwaukee Bucks. "He would do a lot of strength testing with us and he would compare us to a lot of the guys in the NBA, because he would have that type of info on his iPad," Dybantsa said. "So he would compare, for example, my lateral movement compared to Jrue Holiday or my vertical jump compared to Giannis [Antetokounmpo]. So I kind of got to see where I was ranked early on in my college career."

You’ve also coached the U.S. men’s Olympic team. Celtics fans want to know why you didn’t really play Jayson Tatum, one of the league’s superstars, in the 2024 Olympics. You said that it was a “math problem.” What did you mean? We had LeBron James and Kevin Durant ahead of him. Both guys had incredible F.I.B.A. experience. They’re two of the greatest players of all time. Jayson happened to be playing the same position as them. If I had just said, “I'm going to play the best five guys” or whatever, then, yeah, Jayson’s probably out there. But you’re trying to put together a team. And so, ironically, the guys I played ahead of him were also Boston Celtics: Derrick White and Jrue Holiday. We needed guys who were on-ball defenders, facilitators, who would make Steph and LeBron and Kevin better. Jayson wasn’t really suited for that role as well as those other guys. And that’s the whole point of U.S.A. Basketball: take twelve of the best players on earth and try to make it work.

The conspiracy theorists claim you were trying to foment discord among the Celtics. Steve Kerr: Yeah. The 2020 election was rigged, too.
Jorge Sierra: Jayson Tatum (age 28) has passed NBA legends Reggie Miller and Clyde Drexler in playoff scoring. Jrue Holiday moved ahead of Anthony Davis. Also: Scottie Pippen is now closer to Michael Jordan in playoff scoring than MJ is to LeBron James. Pippen is No. 20 all-time.

Trail Blazers guard Jrue Holiday tried to delay that takeover Sunday night. On the first play of the game, the veteran guard sent Wembanyama flying to the ground as he cut through the lane. As the only Trail Blazers player with championship experience, it fell to Holiday to welcome the young Frenchman to the physicality of the playoff stage. Wembanyama popped back up, caught the ball on the wing, drove to the lane and missed a floater. "I think he was a little more excited than usual," Spurs teammate De'Aaron Fox said. "Everybody has jitters, but I don't think those jitters showed for more than like 30 seconds."

Just a few months after the successful title run, Jaylen Brown, Jrue Holiday, and Lauren Holiday together launched the Boston Creator Accelerator, an incubator aimed at supporting underrepresented entrepreneurs in the Greater Boston Area. The Accelerator provided 10 creators with monetary grants totaling $1 million — as well as mentorship, resources, and direct access to Brown and the Holidays.

Brown, who launched Boston XChange last season in hopes of supporting entrepreneurs from underrepresented communities, was thrilled to collaborate with the Holidays. “Sometimes, you’re asking other guys, they’ve been advised not to be involved because of whatever reason, I don’t know,” Brown said last season. “But Jrue and Lauren Holiday are great people. They’ve been doing this everywhere they go.”

Kellan Olson: Devin Booker on Jrue Holiday: "We've competed at the highest level and then competed together at the highest level right after. Someone that I have ultimate respect for. In my opinion, one of the most underrated players to ever play the game. Always enjoy it."

Kellan Olson: Devin Booker on how Toumani Camara has improved since his short time in Phoenix: "He's gotten a lot more confident, he's gotten a lot more physical. ... He's one of the best defenders in the league." Shouted out having Jrue Holiday as a mentor being a big advantage too.
