Holiday remains a Trail Blazer as we speak and, as The Stein Line first reported over the weekend, Portland has conveyed to Milwaukee that it would love to trade for Antetokounmpo directly if it could. Sources say, however, that Antetokounmpo's camp has continued to signal no interest in a contract extension with the Blazers, which would dissuade them from surrendering good assets to trade for him and likely limits Portland's realistic involvement in an eventual Antetokounmpo deal to third-team facilitator status.

Sean Highkin: Jrue Holiday is back in the lineup tonight after missing Sunday’s game for personal reasons. Vit Krejci is also available to play after passing his physical following the trade.

Sean Highkin: Scoot is officially upgraded to "Doubtful" for tomorrow -- which, following the pattern for Jrue Holiday and Jerami Grant coming back from long-term injuries, likely means he doesn't play tomorrow but does play Friday. Deni Avdija is also doubtful.

Knicks Videos: "The idea would be that Giannis would enjoy playing with Jrue Holiday again" Ian talks about Jrue Holiday, Giannis Antetokounmpo, and how the Knicks fit in to trade rumors surrounding the pair on The Putback with @IanBegley

The New York Knicks have been one team that has been linked to Antetokounmpo for some time, and NBA insider Zach Lowe recently brought up a rumor that he's heard involving them, the Bucks, and the Portland Trail Blazers. “A three-team trade between New York, Milwaukee, and Portland. Because Portland owns pieces of three consecutive Bucks picks from the trades that they’ve made together, including the Dame trade. ‘28, ‘29, ‘30 swaps and pieces of picks etc…. I’m like, so how does that work? Like what is the rumor,” Lowe said. “And I’ve heard a couple different versions of it. One of them had the Knicks getting both Giannis and Jrue Holiday, which would make sense because if the Knicks are trading multiple for one, they’re hurting their depth. And I’ve played with concepts where they get Giannis and Kuzma in a two-team trade with the Bucks.”

"What's this year been like for you? I know you and Kristaps had a sense that you might get traded over the offseason. What was your reaction to that, and how's the year that's followed gone since?" Jrue Holiday: "I think I've said this a few times, but I knew I was getting traded. Brad had told me that there was a possibility, and then whenever it happened, he was upfront and told me what happened. So it felt like it was a great transition. Me and my family were doing well in Portland. A lot of people that we actually know love the organization — even before they traded me here. But to circle back and get me means a lot to me. So, I've been doing well."

Rumbles that the Knicks have explored pathways to try to acquire Portland's Jrue Holiday. There are at least two clear reasons why New York would have interest in a player who helped both Milwaukee and Boston win championships this decade: 1) The presumption that acquiring Holiday — if there's a way — would make the Knicks an even more attractive destination to Holiday's former Bucks teammate Antetokounmpo; 2) New York is believed to hold a longstanding fondness for Holiday as a potential backcourt complement to Jalen Brunson.

Joe Freeman: Coach Tiago Splitter says Deni Avdija, Rob Williams III and Duop Reath are out tonight vs. the Raptors. That leaves the Blazers with 10 healthy bodies, including two (Jrue Holiday and Jerami Grant) who are on minute-restrictions.

Marc J. Spears: Blazers say Jrue Holiday, Jerami Grant and Robert Williams III are out for tonight’s game at Sacramento. Deni Avdija is AVAILABLE to play.

Sean Highkin: Deni Avdija is officially upgraded to "Questionable" for tonight in Sacramento, a good sign for his chances of playing after missing three games with a back injury. Jerami Grant and Jrue Holiday are doubtful.

Sean Highkin: Jerami Grant and Jrue Holiday are both playing tonight. No decision yet on whether they’ll play on the back-to-back tomorrow in Sacramento. Splitter says it will depend on how they feel after tonight.

Trail Blazers PR: INJURY UPDATE: Deni Avdija is OUT for tonight’s game vs. LAL. Jerami Grant and Jrue Holiday have been upgraded to PROBABLE. Yang Hansen is AVAILABLE to play.

Sean Highkin: Deni is obviously in a lot of pain and has his entire lower back wrapped with an ice bag but he said it's "nothing major" and doesn't think he'll be out too long. "If I can walk two feet, I'm going to play." Jrue meanwhile says his calf feels fine after playing today.
