Olympiacos is acquiring a player with 420 NBA games, with advanced talks underway with NBA guard Monte Morris. According to Eurohoops sources, there’s optimism from the Greek club about a final deal sooner than later for a contract until the end of the season.
Shams Charania: The Indiana Pacers are planning to waive guard Monte Morris and sign forward Jeremiah Robinson-Earl to a standard, non-guaranteed deal, sources tell ESPN. Morris has averaged 5.2 points and 6.2 rebounds over two 10-day hardship deals.
Martin, Monte Morris and Mac McClung participated in what amounted to a three-player tryout, league sources say, before the Pacers first signed McClung to a non-guaranteed deal. The Pacers felt their most significant need at that point in time was lead guard play and gave McClung the chance to prove he was an NBA-caliber floor general. Indiana, though, quickly pivoted to Morris, who had been bound for training camp with the Pacers before the team flagged a calf injury.
