Jalen Brunson, Mikal Bridges and Josh Hart were in attendance at the U.S. Open on Friday as part of another star-studded crowd at Arthur Ashe Stadium for Ben Shelton’s semifinal win over fellow American Frances Tiafoe. Brunson attended with his wife, Ali, and was sitting next to one of the Knicks’ most recognizable celebrity fans, Ben Stiller. Stiller’s wife, actress Christine Taylor, was also seated with her husband and the Brunsons.

Francis Tiafoe, whose sporting allegiance lies with the Washington, D.C. teams, first pretended not to know who the Knicks were before suggesting he hoped to use some of their positive vibes to help him in this year’s U.S. Open. “Hopefully I can go off that Knicks energy, even though I’m a huge DC Sports fan. That was nuts, man. What a run. Happy for them,” Tiafoe said. He said that he had reached out to Ben Stiller, a fan of Tiafoe’s and has previously been spotted at events cheering him on, to congratulate him on the Knicks’ victory.

NBA star Jimmy Butler took a swing at another sport Wednesday night, dressing just like a member of the ball crew at the U.S. Open to perform those duties and picking up a racket to play with Frances Tiafoe, Carlos Alcaraz and Sebastián Yatra at a charity event that raised $320,000 for humanitarian relief in Ukraine.

As the break from tennis continues for Frances Tiafoe during the off-season, the American tennis star has turned his attention towards basketball, another sport he is a big fan of. Tiafoe recently visited the National Basketball Association (NBA) headquarters in New York City, where he met with NBA commissioner Adam Silver and joked that he is now considering adding his name to the 2023 NBA draft.
