Iman Shumpert: To my standard, I don't feel like we should have lost the first championship in 2015. Kyrie hurt his knee. I had my shoulder out of place. Jr's back was messed up. Kevin Love's back was messed up. Brian Windhorst: No, Kevin Love's shoulder was out. Shumpert: The shoulder was out. I can't remember what LeBron's issue was, but I believe he went and got some back operation after that before the next season. Windhorst: He might have just broken news, but we'll just move past that.
JR Smith when Knicks traded him to Cleveland: I ain't going to lie, bro. I cried. I was in Memphis. We were in Memphis. I was working out. We were getting ready for the game and I came back in the locker room and Steve Mills pulled me aside. He's like, ‘Yeah, man. We just traded you and Iman Shumpert to Cleveland.’ And I was just like, ‘Damn, where like, you know, I ain't want to say nothing of him or whatever.’ Because I already had my feelings about him and the situation that we were already in with the new group, new regime, whatever at that time.
JR Smith: Shumpert still like ‘damn Joe. They ain't believe in this joe’. I'm like ‘sh*t if you don't pipe that sh*t down, bro. We about to win the chip. You tripping, man. You don't knock that sh*t off, man. We were just damn near last place. We just went to damn near first. We going to the chip for sure’ You see our team?’ He's like, ‘Nah, Joe, man. F*ck that sh*t. Two weeks later, we get everybody came back healthy. LeBron James was healthy, Kyrie Irving was healthy, Kevin Love was healthy. We start blowing teams out and he looked at me like, ‘Yo, bro, I was tripping.’
Teyana Taylor is setting the record straight about her and Iman Shumpert’s divorce. Amid reports supposedly detailing divorce settlement began circulating online, the "We Got Love" singer accused her ex of leaking the alleged settlement details in a filing asking a Georgia court to hold him in contempt. In her filing, submitted March 18 and obtained by E! News, Taylor alleged that she and the NBA star—who share daughters Iman "Junie" Tayla Shumpert Jr., 9, and Rue Rose Shumpert, 4—never actually reached a settlement when they finalized their divorce in July 2024, after which the case was sealed.
Taylor went on to debunk several rumors regarding the distribution of her and her ex's assets included in the rumored settlement. The 34-year-old said the court awarded her four out of her and Shumpert's seven properties, including two she said were purchased solely by her. Shumpert, she alleged in the filing, got to keep a Miami condo she says he had originally gifted to her. Her petition also noted, "Both parties put work, time and money into the remaining four properties that were divided by the Court."

Paul Pierce: At the trade deadline, you know, it’s noon. We were supposed to fly to Memphis. And what’s the day like? Everybody on edge. [Expletive] up. Silent. And this team is always gambling, playing music, drinking without the coaches knowing. Like, we crack, you know what I mean? And everyone was just uptight. And this was Twitter time—this wasn’t really Instagram time. So, me—I remember me and Darren Collison were supposed to get traded for Raymond Felton and Iman Shumpert. We were supposed to go to the Knicks, and they were supposed to come to us. So, that’s something that’s bouncing around on Twitter while that [expletive] is happening.
I was always curious, before Game 5, when you’re down 3-1, was there any moment where he said something or something happened that made you guys feel like, 'We’re gonna do this, we’re gonna come back and win this in seven'? IMAN SHUMPERT: When we were on the bus, Bron basically said, 'We’re gonna go there, we’re gonna win, and then we’re gonna win at home. After we win at home, that’s gonna put the pressure on them. They kind of don’t even want to win it in Cleveland; they’re gonna want to win their last one at home. So, either they get this one at home, or we’re automatically gonna get six because nobody wants to come back to Cleveland and do it.' What they didn’t realize was, he just broke the game down mentally for us: 'We’re gonna win this game. I guarantee y’all we’re gonna win this game. I don’t care what we gotta do—we’re winning.' And then, when we got back there, that’s when it happened. Draymond didn’t play. That’s right. Everybody was like, 'Wait a second, y’all lose superpowers when this man isn’t around. Ain’t no pointing at the sky no more, ain’t no tough guys. Nobody on y’all team wants to fight anymore. All y’all completely changed.' Their personalities changed.
While James and Curry face the prospect of ending their careers with four rings apiece and not much of a chance for a fifth ring, Shumpert is still against the idea of the two stars teaming up. “That's cheating,” says Shumpert. “It's literally cheating. One-three pick-and-roll with LeBron and Steph. Good luck. Good luck, guys. Please God, don't do that. That's cheating.”
“They better not,” said Shumpert when asked about the prospect of both stars teaming up in a one-on-one interview on behalf of his new show, Taking One For The Team. “I'm making the announcement to them — ya'll better not. On Team USA, we loved it, laughed it up. Don't do that. It's not cool. I want ya'll to be arch-enemies. That's just what it is.”
The 34-year-old former shooting guard explains that he didn't like it when Kevin Durant teamed up with Curry to lead the Warriors to two NBA championships in 2017 and 2018 — and he wouldn't support it if James and Curry did the same. “KD already ruined it and he went over there with Steph so they couldn't be arch enemies,” says Shumpert. “That hurt everybody's heart. ‘Bron, don't do that. Don't hurt us all. We're all going to cry and then we're going to watch it and then when we watch it. We might enjoy it, I will enjoy the hell out of it, that one-three pick and roll. I'm going to enjoy that a lot. But don't do that. That's not fair.”

Iman Shumpert is addressing the rumors surrounding his dating life head-on ... telling TMZ Sports that Amber Rose is nothing but a friend -- despite the two recently hitting the beach together. The NBA champ and the TV personality/model caused quite a stir after they were spotted in Miami last month, smiling and loungin' with one another near the water.
Our sources said at the time it was a platonic meet-up ... and Shumpert and Rose were simply just friends. However, fans still called BS -- so we asked Iman face-to-face when we caught up with him in New York City. "We went to 'College Hill' [Celebrity Edition] together," Shumpert explained. "Any other time, y'all would've just let us eat, but I get it."
Not every love story has a happy ending, but there's no bad blood between Teyana Taylor and Iman Shumpert. Taylor announced her separation from her husband of seven years in an Instagram post Sunday, revealing the couple has been separated "for a while." "We are still the best of friends, great business partners and are one hell of a team when it comes to co-parenting our 2 beautiful children," Taylor wrote alongside a photo of the former couple. "Most importantly we are family (and) in the 10 (years) together, 7 (years) married we ain’t ever played with or about that."
Former New York Knick Iman Shumpert says he wanted to throw his team’s minute restriction plans for him out the window during Steph Curry’s 2013 Broadway Show at Madison Square Garden (54 points). (via All The Smoke): Shumpert: “Hey New York, my bad if I was a part of that. I could have ran up to Raymond like, ‘Hey, G! You’re guarding whoever the f*** else! I’m now guarding Steph 94 feet.’ But I had just got back from injury, so they was like, ‘Shump, you over gassing yourself. He gonna do you.’ That’s how they was saying it, ‘You on a minute restriction, he’s gonna do you. Let Raymond [Felton] handle this.'” Matt Barnes: “I’m willing to re-blow this wheel to shut this MFer up!”
