Bobby Marks: Memphis will have a $12.5M cap hit on Miles Plumlee and $392K for Ivan Rabb. Since the Rabb contract becomes guaranteed on Oct. 19, any team claiming the former second-round pick would inherit his $1.6M guaranteed contract.

The Grizzlies bought more time to figure out Ivan Rabb’s future with the team on Sunday by pushing his contract guarantee date back to mid-October, per Grind City Media’s Mike Wallace. It’s a move that should be beneficial for both sides, as Rabb’s performance at summer league wasn’t quite strong enough to give confidence that he’ll be a regular contributor next season.
