Underdog is refusing to bend after an attorney for Shai Gilgeous-Alexander demanded the company “destroy” copies of a promotional board game poking fun at the NBA MVP’s proclivity for drawing fouls. The sports prediction market and fantasy-sports company made 100 copies of Unethical Hoops, a promotional item based on the classic board game Operation. The game, which was announced via a social media post featuring Suns forward Dillon Brooks, can be won by Underdog users, with winners set to be announced Friday. (The classic Operation game, which first came out in 1965, is produced by Hasbro and retails for about $20.)
On Thursday, Dillon Brooks went on social media to promote a new board game of his own doing called “Unethical Hoops”, per Underdog. It is a game designed to target SGA and use his likeness. The game is modeled after the surgery-themed board game Operation, in which players use make-shift tweezers to perform “surgery”. Players use the pliers to retrieve miniature basketballs. The board features notable examples of flopping, including “lean-in, “push-off,” and “rip-through”.

Brooks spoke about Victor Wembanyama’s incredible talent, saying that once the French star reaches his peak and wins his first MVP award, we might not see another player claim the honor until he retires. "Once Wemby gets his first, you probably won't see anybody else get one," Brooks said. "His numbers are gonna go up."

How do you think the Kevin Durant trade played out for the Rockets? Was it worth losing players such as Jalen Green and Dillon Brooks? Metta World Peace: I think it’s played out the same way for both the Rockets and the Phoenix Suns. It was quite an even trade. It’s tough for the Rockets because Durant missed Game 1 with a knee injury, then injured his ankle in Game 2, causing him to miss more time. That hurt them a lot. I’ve been injured in the playoffs, so I know how it feels. I was supposed to be out for six weeks with a meniscus tear, but I came back and played the San Antonio Spurs within two weeks. I wasn’t the same and couldn’t move. It’s hard to gauge whether the Rockets got the better of the trade because, while Durant is great, he’s a little older now. Meanwhile, the Suns got Jalen Green. Dillon Brooks is also showing he can play offense now and not just be a tough defender and enforcer. He is showing that he can score now. They both had tough situations in the playoffs. Houston had to face the Lakers, and Durant was hurt. The Suns went up against OKC, which is far from easy.

“I don’t think it’s his last year,” Suns forward Dillon Brooks, who was in attendance, told Yahoo Sports. “I think he got one more in him. I watched him when I was in the NBA, when I was a kid in high school. He’s got a phenomenal career and battled everybody and done it at a high level throughout. It’s been amazing to watch overall, a pleasure to battle against him.”

John Gambadoro: Mat Ishbia told @BurnsAndGambo yesterday that he expects Dillon Brooks, who is eligible for a 4-year extension, to be in Phoenix long term and that they have to figure out a way to keep him. Said he see's him as part of a championship team in Phoenix over the next 3-4 years.
Gilbert McGregor: “You get what you deserve in life. Dillon deserves everything he’s gotten. He’s earned it.” Mat Ishbia spoke glowingly of Dillon Brooks, his persona, and why he’s excited for him to continue to be a part of this franchise.

Dillon Brooks will be extension eligible on the day after the NBA Finals after a career year, but there are variables Phoenix must weigh before committing to a new deal. On one hand, Brooks was an undeniable culture-changer in his maiden season as Sun, contributing mightily to the turnaround Phoenix staged after shipping out Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal and also hiring first-year coach Jordan Ott. Yet there is likewise an understanding in the desert that Brooks' 20.2 points per game featured some spotty efficiency and was fueled at least somewhat by lengthy stretches of injury unavailability for fellow Phoenix newcomer Jalen Green.
The Suns, I'm told, indeed want to secure a long-term stay for Brooks after his role in establishing them as the West's foremost regular season surprise team, but sources say that Phoenix is also mindful of the fact that an extension would kick in for Brooks' age-32 season since there is currently only one season left on his contract in 2026-27 at $21 million.
