Arizona State Sun Devils big man Warren Washington announced Thursday on Instagram he is declaring for the 2023 NBA Draft while maintaining his final year of eligibility in college.
The Los Angeles Lakers are bringing in six more players for workouts ahead of the 2021 NBA draft, the team announced. The new crop of players includes Joshua Primo of Alabama, Josh Christopher of Arizona State, Marcus Zegarowski of Creighton, Anthony Tarke of Coppin State, Jayvon Graves of Buffalo and Eugene Omoruyi of Oregon. Primo, 6’6″ guard, played one season at Alabama and averaged 8.1 points and 3.4 rebounds while shooting 43.1 percent overall on 6.5 attempts and 38.1 percent from deep on 3.8 attempts.
Junior forward Romello White was one of three Arizona State basketball players to declare for the draft, but a message on social media indicated that he hadn't closed the door on his college career. If he does return to college basketball, it won't be to Tempe. The Atlanta native plans to enter the transfer portal. He will be the fifth Sun Devil to do so.

Former Arizona State men's basketball player Jermaine Marshall has died at age 28, according to his pro basketball team in France. The Nantes Basketball Club confirmed in a press release Friday that Marshall passed away, and has requested that its upcoming game on Saturday be postponed.

Those wondering if Carrick Felix would earn a spot on the Cavaliers' final roster might have gotten an answer. The Cavs signed the second-round pick from Arizona State to a reported four-year contract, a league source confirmed on Monday. The first three years of Felix's contract are guaranteed, according to HoopsWorld.com. The No. 33 overall pick in the 2013 draft will earn $510,000 in 2013-14, about $20,000 more than the league minimum.
Arizona State men's basketball coach Herb Sendek hired two assistants with NBA experience Tuesday. Eric Musselman has had two NBA head-coaching stints -- with the Golden State Warriors from 2002-04 and the Sacramento Kings in 2006-07 -- and Larry Greer was an assistant with the Portland Trail Blazers last season. "In talking to several people it was clear to me Larry and Eric were great additions to the Sun Devil family because of unique backgrounds and a passion for the game," Sendek said in a statement. "I love the fact Eric has coached at so many levels, including leagues where guys are trying to make the next step. Larry comes highly recommended by several people in the basketball world that I have a lot of faith in and are good friends with. Together with coach Dedrique Taylor I am really looking forward to our future as we bring the experience of the NBA game to our program."
Arizona State coach Herb Sendek could be on the verge of a coaching coup. He lost two assistants this month when Scott Pera left for Penn and Lamont Smith departed for rival Washington. Multiple sources said that Sendek has had serious conversations with L.A. D- Fenders head coach Eric Musselman. The Sun Devils, who finished 6-12 in the Pac-12 and 10-21 overall, get high-profile Jahii Carson back after he sat out last season. Musselman was a head coach with Golden State and Sacramento and an assistant with Minnesota, Orlando and Atlanta and also the head coach of the Venezuelan National Team. The Sun Devils need all the help they can get to climb in the Pac-12 and adding a teacher like Musselman will only help speed up the process.
