O'Neal believes Bryant's success has earned him the right to be towards the top of the all-time list. He explained his stance on his podcast with featured guest and former NBA player JJ Redick. “The only thing I don't like about the [GOAT] conversation is they don't put my boy [Kobe Bryant] in it. If you're gonna be throwing names around, you gotta have my boy's name in it. That's like saying, ‘What are the best luxury cars out there? Lexus or Beemer?' You gotta put the Mercedes in there too,” Shaq said via The Big Podcast.
“Once I got a little bit older, like when I was 12 or 13,” Porzingis said. “I started to fall in love with Mercedes.” “It was my dad’s passion, and so the love for Mercedes just took over. There are other cars I like as well, but Mercedes has my heart.”
An Asian American man reported to Phoenix police that a beer bottle was thrown at him while he attended a Suns basketball game with his two children at Phoenix Suns Arena in downtown Phoenix, police officials confirmed on Wednesday. The victim contacted police about 9:40 p.m. on Tuesday to report the attack. Phoenix police spokesperson Sgt. Mercedes Fortune said officers are attempting to obtain video of the incident and an investigation is ongoing, as incidents of anti-Asian violence are occurring nationwide. Fortune said the incident may be "bias related."
“My momma is happy, her house is paid for; she had the car that she knows she would never get in her dreams, a Mercedes-Benz. My father (had) one, I had one. I was good,” O’Neal says, reflecting on the overnight lifestyle upgrade that affects young professionals in the world’s best paying league. “But now you have to educate yourself on how to maintain that, and a lot of people don’t do that.”

One of the cars stolen during an Oakland Hills crime spree belongs to Golden State Warriors coach Luke Walton, Alameda County District Attorney Nancy O'Malley said late Monday. Walton's Mercedes Benz was stolen Tuesday by two suspects, who police believe are also responsible for a violent attack on a 75-year-old woman outside her home on Thursday. The suspects also took the woman's car during the attack, according to police.
Down on their luck as the Lakers are, with no special lure for like the one they had with Shaquille O’Neal, who loved the West Coast and garagaged a Mercedes here just to drive on Orlando Magic trips, the team was considered a top contender for KD, until now. As slender a reed as it may be, that, not Bryant passing Michael Jordan, is the best thing to happen to Kobe and the Lakers for a while.
Lamar Odom has been charged with driving under the influence, the Los Angeles City Attorney’s office said Friday. The NBA free agent was arrested Aug. 30 after he was spotted allegedly driving erratically on the 101 Freeway in the San Fernando Valley, the California Highway Patrol said. CHP officials said they spotted Odom driving a white Mercedes sports utility vehicle eastbound on the 101 Freeway near Sepulveda Boulevard. The driver was driving in a "serpentine manner" at speeds of about 50 mph. He is scheduled to be arraigned Sept. 27.
Boris Diaw lives just a few blocks away from Time Warner Cable Arena and realized that driving his Audi SUV or Mercedes might be a little excessive for his short trip to work. So this past fall Diaw picked up this Segway x2 which has a modest top speed of 12.5 mph. "I always heard about the Segway, see the cops on them, and I thought it was a good idea, especially when it's cold and don't necessarily want to walk," Diaw explained. "Because I had two cars...and I wanted to sell one anyway, I sold one and got a Segway instead. "For short distances it's the best, and then I just take my car when I've gotta go to the airport. ... In everyday life, just take the Segway because you can go anywhere, go in the arena, and it's better than parking in the parking deck."
According to the FHP statement, "Mr. Haslem was traveling eastbound on the Gratigny between 42 and 57 Avenue at approximately 3:05 PM. During the traffic stop the trooper smelled an odor of marijuana from within the vehicle." Antwain Fleming, a passenger in the 2008 Mercedes, also was charged with possession of marijuana. Fleming is not associated with the Heat. "All the marijuana in the car, according to the police report, belonged to the passenger. The passenger admitted it and Udonis Haslem has done nothing wrong. He did not know it was there. He's being targeted because he's a high-profile NBA player," Haslem's attorney Eric Schwartzreich said late Sunday.
