Before Santi Aldama surged to become a critical part of the Memphis Grizzlies bench, he arrived in Tennessee as a sneaky, under-the-radar first-round draft pick in 2021. The initial reaction from the franchise’s fans sounded something like this: “Aldama? Who?” The forward who played his college basketball for Loyola Maryland in the Patriot League was billed as a player who had excelled at the international level and was still young enough to take the next step toward NBA relevancy. Then Aldama showed up at FedExForum for the start of training camp.
Santi Aldama announced his intention to enter the NBA draft but will maintain his NCAA eligibility retaining the option to return to Loyola Maryland.
Tandem Sports + Entertainment has signed Northwestern guard Pat Spencer for representation in the NBA draft. Matt Laczkowski, Tandem director of athlete and talent representation, is representing Spencer, who transferred to Northwestern after playing lacrosse for four seasons at Loyola-Maryland. Spencer was drafted No. 1 in the 2019 Premier Lacrosse League draft, but chose to spend the next year pursuing basketball as a graduate transfer at Northwestern.
