One of the Nuggets’ top priorities will be retaining restricted free agent Peyton Watson, and if they do, at least one current starter is almost guaranteed to be sacrificed in a corresponding cost-cutting move. Johnson has been considered the most likely candidate to be traded for months, according to sources, but Gordon and Braun are in the same salary range as him. Denver’s first-round flame-out was disastrous enough that anyone other than Jokic could feasibly be shipped off.

Anthony Slater: Cam Johnson was among the Nuggets who Jaden McDaniels called a “bad defender.” Johnson: “They just been saying a lot. All season, all series. Let them talk. Let them get everything they want off their chest.”

Chris Hine: Jaden McDaniels, deadpan delivery, on what worked for the Timberwolves offensively. Jaden: “Go at Jokic, Jamal, all the bad defenders. Tim Hardaway, Cam Johnson, Aaron Gordon, their whole team.” Q: They’re all bad defenders? Jaden: “Yeah, they’re all bad defenders.”

Bennett Durando: Nikola Jokic is questionable for tomorrow’s game against San Antonio. The other four starters, Tim Hardaway Jr. Peyton Watson and Spencer Jones are all out. Jokic has to play 15 minutes to be eligible for end-of-season awards.

Vinny Benedetto: Cam Johnson called Aaron Gordon an "aura curator" in the postgame locker room. AG confirmed. "I curate the vibes, man. I bring the vibes."

Michael Scotto: Denver Nuggets forward Peyton Watson is having a breakout season and will be one of the top restricted free agents this summer. After rebuffing trade interest, the Nuggets want to re-sign him this summer. Why Cam Johnson could become a trade candidate as a result on @YESNetwork .

Denver Nuggets forward Peyton Watson is expected to return Sunday against the Portland Trail Blazers after missing more than six weeks due to a hamstring strain, sources told ESPN's Shams Charania on Saturday. Watson's return would mark the first time the Nuggets have had their full roster available since early in the season. Several players, including three-time MVP Nikola Jokic, Aaron Gordon, Cameron Johnson and Christian Braun, have all missed extended time this year.

Justin Martinez: Cam Johnson is questionable to return tonight due to back spasms, per Nuggets PR.

Bennett Durando: Aaron Gordon officially cleared to play vs. Knicks tonight. Cam Johnson and Spencer Jones are also in. It’s the first time since Nov. 12 that Denver’s opening day starting lineup will play together.

Bennett Durando: Cam Johnson is out tonight, David Adelman says. It’ll be the second straight game Nuggets are without their top four forwards. “The wings are not playing.”

Vinny Benedetto: Friendly reminder Cam Johnson is a human being. He didn’t make excuses when talking about his ankle injury and recent struggles. Thought his answer when @Shapalicious asked about how he moves forward was illuminating:

Vinny Benedetto: Cam Johnson is not optimistic he’ll be able to play tomorrow in Utah. Said the ankle has been an issue at different times throughout his career. He’s exploring different shoes and orthotics to try and get it right.
