The Nuggets will waive Akinjo from the non-guaranteed deal before the end of the preseason. Akinjo is expected to join the Grand Rapids Gold for the upcoming G League season.

James Ham: According to a league source, the Sacramento Kings signed James Akinjo to a contract on Friday as reported by @KeithSmithNBA . They waived him on Friday as well. His G League rights were acquired by the team a few weeks ago and he is expected to play in Stockton this season.

Jason Anderson: The G League Stockton Kings have acquired the rights to James Akinjo from the Westchester Knicks in exchange for the rights to Alex O'Connell and Jeriah Horne. Akinjo, a 6-1 guard from Baylor, averaged 14.4 points, 3.2 rebounds and 6.6 assists last season for Westchester.
