Orazio Cauchi: GSL Sports Group, the agency representing John Konchar, has announced that the player has signed with Olympiacos. The 30-year-old guard will make his debut in Europe after spending the majority of his NBA career with the Memphis Grizzlies.

Olympiacos is interested and moving forward with plans to acquire John Konchar as the club looks to steady its roster early in the 2026–27 schedule. The reigning EuroLeague and Stoiximan GBL champions have turned their focus to the 30-year-old wing to address a vacancy left by the departure of Shaquielle McKissic, a spot that remained unfilled through the summer. This pursuit has followed an injury to Evan Fournier and the ongoing situation surrounding Tyler Dorsey, prompting management to initiate direct talks with the player’s camp.

In SNY's The Putback, longtime Knicks insider Ian Begley believes that Drew Eubanks is the best and safest candidate New York may pick for their final roster spot ahead of the new NBA season. "I think the safest play is Drew Eubanks," Begley claimed. "Before John Konchar left the team for personal reasons, the two sides mutually agreed to waive him. Before that happened, they were looking at both a wing and a big. If they're still going that route, they would have to make a trade. But you can't get to 15 players without trading someone. "So, assuming that trade doesn't happen, you have to go with a big guy, and Eubanks would be the safer play."

The New York Knicks announced a series of transactions, as they continue tinkering with their training camp roster. New York waived John Konchar and N'Faly Dante, who had been signed to non-guaranteed camp deals. The Knicks signed Jaden Akins to a two-way deal, after signing-and-waiving him twice previously this offseason. New York also signed veteran center Tony Bradley to a training camp deal.

Ian Begley: John Konchar had been away from the Knicks this week tending to a personal matter, per SNY sources. The Knicks and Konchar have since decided to part ways for now, allowing him additional time away from the team

Ian Begley: One roster note: Big man Tony Bradley remains on NYK radar as a veteran to add in wake of John Konchar (personal reasons) leaving team

Ian Begley: All of the veterans - John Konchar, Bruce Brown, Ochai Agbaji, James Wiseman, Drew Eubanks - are on training camp deals. They will compete for open roster spot. Knicks would have to trade player on NBA deal if they wanted to keep two vets. If not, they’ll likely have to choose between a big man and a wing. Knicks have all two-ways open. Liam Robbins will have chance to compete for 2 way. I assume Tyler Nickel gets a two way deal. Kevin McCullar Jr. has been working out with Knick players this month, remains on NYK radar.

Barry Jackson: For those asking about Gabe Vincent, there has been no Heat offer. Knicks brought him to New York earlier this week. New York signed 5 vets today to compete for 1 or 2 roster spots: Bruce Brown, John Konchar, James Wiseman, Drew Eubanks, Ochai Agbaji. Heat, which is hard-capped, added Nick Richards on this type of non-guaranteed deal but otherwise is holding onto a spot in case something needle-moving shakes free in months ahead.

Shams Charania: Free agent forward John Konchar has agreed to a one-year deal with the New York Knicks, agent George S. Langberg of @GSLSportsGroup tells ESPN. Konchar is entering his eighth NBA season.

The Heat has expressed some interest in veteran free agent guard John Konchar and has had internal discussions about whether to make an offer, according to a league source. Konchar, 30, has never averaged more than 5.1 points in any of his eight seasons, but he does several things pretty well and that skill set, versatility, feistiness, high motor, defensive tenacity and experience hold some appeal to the Heat.

According to a source, the Heat has spoken to Konchar’s camp about potentially competing with Myron Gardner for a roster spot; the Heat is expected to circle back this week with a decision about whether it will formally offer that opportunity. Of Gardner’s $2.1 million salary, $500,000 already has been guaranteed. The remainder would become guaranteed if he’s on the roster on Jan. 7.

Konchar would have interest in the Heat, but more so if Miami offers a guaranteed deal. And it seems doubtful that the Heat would offer a full guarantee because that would make it more difficult for Miami to add an appealing player on the buyout market during the season. Miami potentially could offer the type of nonguaranteed deal that it gave veteran center Nick Richards, whose $3.1 million salary becomes guaranteed if he’s on the opening night roster. A source was skeptical about whether Konchar would take a non-guaranteed deal but wouldn’t totally rule it out.
