Spencer Dinwiddie on who’s the best current Euroleague player: Everybody told me Kendrick Nunn. That's the guy. I mean obviously we haven't we haven't played him yet since I've been here. I played him before obviously in the NBA but everybody told me Kendrick Nunn is the guy here for sure.

Lonnie Walker IV praised Kendrick Nunn for his overall impact on how fellow former NBA players consider their EuroLeague options. “It all really started because of Kendrick Nunn. He’s one of the pioneers of this all, as far as Americans feeling or seeing more comfortably coming over here. He’s shown that it’s possible,” said the veteran of 361 NBA games, stretching from the Lakers to the San Antonio Spurs, Brooklyn Nets, and Philadelphia 76ers. “When you have a player like that, it’s kind of just a domino effect. I came next up in line. Now you have more and more players, as far as Americans coming in now. So, I just try to be my best as far as answering questions the best I can, and making them understand the difference between the NBA and the EuroLeague,” he added during the EuroLeague preseason Media Day of the Yellows.

Josh Giddey, who is currently training individually in Melbourne, surprised fans by practicing alongside Jerian Grant, Kendrick Nunn, Nikos Rogkavopoulos, and Giannis Kouzeloglou. “Here I train every day, and when I heard they were coming, I thought it was a good chance to get into rhythm as well. They’re a very good team, respected all over Europe. It was the first time I practiced with a EuroLeague team. They have a game on Thursday and were a bit ‘tired,’ so a few of us jumped in to help them out, run up and down the court, and get them ready for the match,” Giddey said.

How do people react when you say you love playing abroad and were fine leaving the NBA? Shane Larkin: They're surprised. I mean, I think that's a natural reaction. I had a few incredible seasons over here and I had opportunities to go back to the league and I was like, "Nah I'm cool, like I'm good where I am"... and when people hear that, they don't understand what it is like to be one of the better star players in Europe. You have to really experience it to fully understand it, but I would explain it as if... I'm not comparing myself to any star player in the NBA at all, but like the way I'm sure Kyrie Irving was being treated in Cleveland is the same way that Kendrick Nunn is now being treated in Athens, the way that I'm treated in Istanbul, Mike James is treated in Monaco. You know, these superstar players live in these cities and they have these certain lifestyles that you wouldn't really understand it unless you were over here and you got to see it first hand.

He was surprised to learn that Kendrick Nunn had decided to continue his career in Europe, but ultimately wasn’t shocked by the decision itself. “Actually, I didn’t know that he was continuing his career in Europe, so that’s news to me. So I guess I’m surprised—but not surprised in the sense that if you love basketball, you’re going to show up wherever they ask you to show up. If you can still provide for yourself and your family and enjoy a good life, why not? If you’re a younger guy and not yet settled with kids in school and all that, I think you’re going to see more and more guys start to do it.”
