Erik Slater: Nic Claxton (Right Hand Soreness) and Ziaire Williams (Left Foot Soreness) are OUT for Nets tomorrow vs. Wizards. Noah Clowney (Left Ankle Soreness) is questionable. Terance Mann (Right Patella Tendon Soreness/Left Achilles Soreness) is probable.

Ziaire Williams seems to have finally gotten beyond his reputation for inconsistency which has plagued him since his freshman year at Stanford. “He’s taken advantage of all those opportunities. He’s embraced what we’re doing and the process, which is the best thing. He understands. He’s about the right things,” Nets coach Jordi Fernández said. “I’m happy with him, and I’ve seen what I had to see. I also need him to go through this [remaining] stretch of eight games. “So, he’s embraced every situation. I’m very happy with what I’ve seen from him, and then we’ll make decisions when we have to. Obviously, it’s very collaborative around here. I’m not the one making decisions on the roster, but I’m always asked, and right now, we’re in a good place. The process is the best thing; it’s just going through it.”

Just as Luka Doncic's case for MVP was picking up steam, the Los Angeles Lakers' star was whistled for his 16th technical foul of the season in Friday's 116-99 win over the Brooklyn Nets, and he will face a one-game suspension if it is upheld. Doncic and Nets forward Ziaire Williams were assessed double techs with 5:12 remaining in the third quarter after jostling with one another following an offensive foul called on Doncic. A video review showed Doncic pushing Williams and Williams retaliating by swiping back at Doncic's face. Both players were called for a technical foul by crew chief Sean Wright. "[Williams] was yelling in my face -- three times," Doncic said after finishing with 41 points in the victory. "I just wanted to get out of there. It's a double tech, of course. What can I say? I didn't even talk. I just wanted to get out of there. And they said I pushed, my push was 'exaggerated,' which [it] was obviously not. And I don't know what else to tell you."

Dan Woike: “Just (being) competitive. I'm always (going to) compete no matter who it is," Ziaire Williams said postgame of his run-in with Luka Dončić. "So I guess he didn't like the physicality or whatever it was. But no hard feelings on this end."

Law Murray: The Brooklyn Nets report that Michael Porter Jr. will be available for Tuesday night vs Los Angeles Lakers. Porter missed the last two games, including a 53-point lashing in Detroit. Brooklyn also upgraded Noah Clowney (back) and Ziaire Williams (calf) to probable.

Brian Lewis: Jordi Fernandez on Ziaire Williams' injury: "Just a contusion. He won't be ready for tonight obviously but it's just day to day. The good thing is that it's nothing major, it's just not allowing him to play right now. Hopefully we'll have him back soon." #Nets #Nuggets #NBA

Sharif Phillips-Keaton: For tomorrow's game at the Grizzlies, the Nets say that Michael Porter Jr. is OUT due to rest. Ziaire Williams (illness) and rookie Drake Powell (left knee injury management) are also OUT. Rookie Ben Saraf is in the G League.

After being benched (DNP-Coach’s Decision) for the final two games of 2025, Nets forward Ziaire Williams has returned to post perhaps his best three-game stretch of the season, putting up 13.7 points per game, on 57.1 percent shooting from the floor, hitting 7 of 13 3s and 10 of 11 free throws, while averaging three steals and one block. “I’m just staying ready, just being the hardest worker out there, doing what I do best on the defensive end, causing havoc, getting deflections and shooting when I’m open,” Williams said following Tuesday’s practice. “Whether you start or come off the bench, play 30 minutes, 10 minutes, it’s all the same game at the end of the day.

Brian Lewis: Ziaire Williams is probable for the #Nets tonight vs. Golden State with a right ankle sprain. The #Warriors are on the tail end of a back-to-back after losing to Toronto, but are expected to play their regulars. #GSW

It won’t be sure until the Nets take the court Friday — that is, if Ziaire Williams even plays vs. the 76ers. “It’s a very abstract question because I just talked to him and didn’t play him last game,” Fernández told The Post. “So if — whenever he has the next opportunity to play — he consistently does it, then we will see if I was successful or not. If not, it’s not on him; it’s on me to try to find ways for him to perform consistently. “Energy is not a subjective thing. … What we need is his ball pressure to be elite, his deflections to be elite, his pick-and-roll defense to be elite, his iso defense to be elite. … Last year, he was above average, one of the top players in the NBA. We need that to be the same or better because I know he can do it.”

Brian Lewis: Danny Wolf is out tomorrow with a Left Ankle Sprain. But Ziaire Williams has been removed from the #Nets injury report with his back injury. #nba
