Derrick White was hit in the head by a spinning backfist on Saturday, new video obtained by TMZ Sports shows ... and it all appeared to be because the NBA champion was showing love for his alma mater. White, a Boston Celtics star and a Univ. of Colorado alum, attended the Buffaloes' big rivalry matchup with Colorado State over the weekend at Canvas Stadium in Fort Collins in some CU swag
Jason Beede: Speaking about the pre-draft process with Colorado’s Tristan da Silva, #Magic’s Jeff Weltman said it “didn’t hurt” that Jamahl Mosley is a Buff, too. “We probably had some pretty good intel,” Weltman said with a smile. “But really, everyone speaks glowingly of this kid.”
Colorado coach Tad Boyle is adding basketball great Danny Manning to his coaching staff in a reunion of former Kansas teammates. Boyle and Manning spent a season together with the Jayhawks in 1984-85. Manning would later go on to lead Kansas to the 1988 NCAA championship, an improbable run that earned the team the nickname "Danny and the Miracles."
Adrian Wojnarowski: Colorado Buffaloes freshman G Cody Williams – an expected lottery pick -- is entering the 2024 NBA Draft, he tells ESPN. Williams – No. 10 in ESPN’s list of Top 100 prospects – is one of draft’s best defenders, using a 6-foot-8 frame and 7-1 wingspan to his distinct advantage.
What about that suggests this guy is ready for the NBA next season? Absolutely nothing. The disparity in effectiveness between him and Collier — the consensus No. 1 recruit in this freshman class, who has been talked about as the potential No. 1 pick in the 2024 NBA Draft — wasn’t stark on Saturday; it was a chasm. Collier finished with 25 points, a season-best nine assists, three steals, two thunderous blocks — both on 6-foot-11, 265-pound Buffaloes big man Eddie Lampkin Jr. — and only one turnover in almost 42 minutes of action. He scored the game-tying basket at the end of the first regulation, and Enfield leaned on him like a cane the entire evening.

Lamar Odom had an epiphany as he watched Deion Sanders take over a 1-11 Colorado football team this season and turn the Buffaloes into the most talked-about program in the country. Odom wants to be a head coach. He wants to be the “Coach Prime” of college basketball. And he wants to get started as soon as possible. “I love what [Sanders] is doing,” Odom told The Messenger. “I think I could do the same in basketball. You give me a program and I’ll recruit and I’ll take them to the Elite Eight and the Final Four. We’ll definitely be able to sell tickets for the first couple of seasons. That’s for damn sure. I just want to coach. I love to see young men grow and get better. I want us to play the game the right way. I want these young men to represent their school the right way. If you give me a program, I promise you I’m going to live in the gym and turn that team around.”
