He wasn’t talking about actual decibel levels, but that also increased in the gym Tuesday. “Ultimate professional,” Simons said of James. “I think he’s built that for 20-plus years now. You hear the stories about him being here early, getting his work done, and saw that today. He was here already getting warmed up by the time I walked through the door. Just speaks to how he’s able to play like this for 24 years.”

LeBron James, Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey, Anfernee Simons, Dominick Barlow, Adem Bona and Tacko Fall will be sidelined for the Sixers' preseason opener on Monday. Of the Sixers' five projected starters in the season ahead, only Jaylen Brown and VJ Edgecombe will be available against the New York Knicks.
Dave McMenamin: While Anfernee Simons was answering questions to the media members after Sixers practice Tuesday a loud droning noise could be heard coming from outside the facility: a helicopter for LeBron James to take to head to New York.
