Baillislife.com: Jeff Teague's response to Zion: "This is probably the dumbest press conference I've heard in my life. All of this is because of you. You choose to eat, be out of shape, all that. Now, all of a sudden, it's a contract year probably or looking for an extension. All of a sudden, he's in shape, and he said they believe in me. Fool, they gave you a max deal. They've been believing in you. They had to put a lot of options in his contract because you didn't believe in you. That's dumb as hell, that press conference is dumb." Now you decide to lock in and do what pro athletes do. Take care of themselves. Hell no, I'm off that, I ain't a fan no more. You get paid damn near $40 million a year to be in shape. I ain't trying to sound like an old head. It's just like you do a press conference and say, 'I feel the best I ever felt since college.' You chose to feel that way. You could have been like this for three years. I ain't hating. Get all the bread you can. C'mon, bro, you were the one damn near 300 pounds."
How is Zion right now mentally and physically? What could a healthy Zion for an entire season mean for the Pelicans? Willie Green: He’s in a good space right now. I’ve seen him this summer. I saw him at minicamp in L.A. He looked really good. His conditioning looked well. They played 5-on-5. He’s been in the gym working. So that’s huge for our group. When he’s healthy – he knows this, people here in New Orleans knows this and people around the world know – that he’s one of the best players in the league. We’re all committed to doing everything we can to help him stay as healthy as he can.
Oh No He Didn't: Perk: "I talked to Zion's agent and he told me that Zion is on the right path" Spears: "From what I'm hearing from Joe (Dumars), he's been really, really impressed with Zion"

On Zion Williamson: “Zion is still our guy. If he wasn’t, we could have waived him for like nothing on the books. We could have reset everything. But we believe in Zion. He wants to make it work, and so do we. This partnership hasn’t even come close to reaching our best yet,” a Pelicans front office executive said.

Jrue Holiday: "I think Zion is one of the most talented or most gifted players that I’ve ever seen. His athletic ability, how he can get to the rim, get by people—it’s unbelievable. And I feel like sometimes it’s about fit. Maybe, I don’t know, they have to adjust the fit to him down there. Or, if needed, he might have to slide out and find a better fit somewhere else.

Christian Clark: Zion is back in the lineup tomorrow against the Hawks. Brandon Ingram, who has missed the last three games, is listed as questionable. Jose Alvarado, Naji Marshall and Trey Murphy remain out.

Over the following few days, fans would go crazy trying to guess his current weight, but ESPN's Tim MacMahon seems to have found the answer. According to his sources, Zion is at 330 pounds right now, which puts him among the heaviest players in NBA history. "The number I've heard from several places about Zion is 70 pounds higher than 260. You do the math."
Will Guillory: NAW also said it meant a lot for Zion to encourage him in the 4th when he showed some obvious frustration on the bench: "It means he wants to win. It means he wants everyone to do good, not just himself. When he's there, he's really in the moment. He's engaged. He's locked in."
