"What was it like getting going to an organization like that and then having to navigate all of those things with the coaching changes, the front office? Then there was an ownership change while you were there." DeMarcus Cousins: "It was tough and it was confusing, and um I was coming from a situation at Kentucky where, you know, Cal treated us like pros, but I remember in my rookie season it was a simple task and I remember (Francisco Garcia) saying something like, 'Yo, you really were spoiled at Kentucky,' like, and in my head, I'm like, 'Damn, maybe I was.' So long story short, Cisco ended up getting traded to the Houston Rockets, and I remember when he went there, he ended up tapping in with me like a little later, and he was like, 'Man, I remember that day I called you spoiled.' He was like, 'I was wrong, like we were in a s**thole.' Like, you know, I'm not here to, like, [trash] on the Kings or anything like that. That's just, you know, in sports you have up and down years, you know, I just so happen to come in at a point where it was down here."
When other guests discussed the possible options, McCants said that he would only offer a two-year $7 million contract. "Francisco Garcia got that s--t, he doesn't deserve it," McCants said. "Y'all giving it to him because he's white, he's playing with the Lakers, and they're trash. If the Lakers ain't trash, he ain't playing." "He's starting to look like Jeremy Lin a little bit," he later added.
In order to facilitate the transaction, the Houston Rockets have waived Francisco Garcia and the roster now stands at 15. Garcia (6-7, 195, Louisville) has 3.2 points and 1.2 rebounds per game in 14 appearances with the Houston Rockets during the 2014-15 season. The tenth year player and product of the Dominican Republic was re-signed by the Rockets this past offseason on September 29, 2014.
