Players still turn to food delivery apps for familiar standbys (Ruth’s Chris, Chipotle, regional favorites like Chick-fil-A), but in-room dining is often the simplest (and sometimes the safest) option available for players who know the ins and outs of the scene. Even players who prefer to dine out tend to be versed in room service fare after staying at the same luxury hotels season after season. “It’s well known throughout the league that the Memphis room service has always been a step below some of the other hotels,” says Washington’s Robin Lopez. “But that’s OK, because at least pre-COVID, you made up for it by having great barbecue options all over.”
Kevin Garnett: I take a second to gather myself. Another rush of images flashing in front of me: sitting at Ruth's Chris Steak House during a family dinner; watching D-Wade playing Chauncey in the Eastern finals; my struggles in Greenville, AAU tournaments, endless games in endless parks in endless neighborhoods, going, growing, never stopping, learning, burning with an energy that gets more intense year by year, wanting this thing, wanting it for all my 12 years in Minneapolis, wanting it for the T-Wolves fans, wanting it for the Celtics fans, wanting this ultimate win, this championship that I've desired more than anything—more than money or fame or sex. And now the reality clicks in my brain, runs down my spine, enters my soul, and I'm taking off my hat and tilting my head straight back and screaming like a madman. "Anything is possible!" A few moments later, I add, "Top of the world! Top of the world! ... I'm certified! I'm certified!"
Two powerful NBA families are set to be linked by marriage -- with Steph Curry's brother, Seth, proposing to Doc Rivers' daughter, Callie ... and she said YES!! TMZ Sports has learned ... the Blazers guard popped the question to his longtime girlfriend in front of their families at Ruth's Chris Steak House in Charlotte on Thursday ... with brother Steph and father Dell present.
Between bites of filet and sweet potato casserole, Livingston adds, "I've been on teams where it was the staff versus the players. And it's not every day that your owner will pay for this. Look at where we are -- Ruth's Chris. It's not like it's McDonald's. But if it was McDonald's, we'd all go there together too."
To top it all off, a group of about a dozen Clippers folks went to dinner downtown at Ruth’s Chris Monday night. After their meal, they played credit card roulette, where everyone involved puts a credit card in a bag and the one chosen pays for everything. Lance lost, and then in a SnapChat video said it set him back “10 racks.” (That’s $10,000.) Was it really, I asked him? “You don’t want to know. Close to 10 racks.” Jeff Ayres (Pendergraph), who’s on a 10-day contract with the Clippers said it wasn’t nearly that much. “If it was 10 grand, he would’ve ran out of the building so fast,” Ayres joked.

There have been countless bus rides and four lengthy plane rides, during which the players inevitably converse and bond. There have been daily card games during flights and in hotel rooms. And the players organized a team dinner Sunday night, feasting on steaks at Ruth's Chris Steak House. Raymond Felton picked up the check. "You're going to be with each other more," LaMarcus Aldridge said. "When you're on the road, all you have is each other. It makes you rely on each other more rather than the home crowd. We've definitely got better chemistry on this road trip so far."
