Boban Marjanovic of the Houston Rockets won over the hearts and stomachs of Los Angeles Clippers fans Sunday after intentionally missing free throws to trigger a free food promotion. As part of a partnership with fast food chain Chick-fil-A, Los Angeles Clippers fans can receive a free chicken sandwich if any visiting team misses two consecutive free throws in the 4th quarter of a home game.
Jason Anderson: Keegan Murray on rookie duties: “I really just picked up Chick-fil-A every away game. That was like $300 every single road trip, so that kind of hurt.”
Have you been watching your diet? There’s the whole thing about Karl-Anthony Towns talking about how he doesn’t like Anthony Edwards eating Popeyes. What’s your take on that? Jalen Duren: Yeah, I mean, I understood, like, even at a younger age that, like, my body is kind of like my business. And my body is what is gonna keep me going. So I try to take the best care of it as possible. Of course, I’m still learning what’s the best route to take in terms of eating, but I’m not going to sit here and say I don’t eat Chick-fil-A and all those things because I do. But I do take into account on what I am putting in my body, and I try to make sure it’s helping me more than it’s hurting.

"Let me have a large drink, no ice, half Sprite, half lemonade," Giannis said to a Chick-fil-A employee. It may not be the Chick-fil-A Giannis Antetokounmpo has been angling for, but another fast food chain is offering the NBA Finals MVP free meals for life. Culver’s says the manager of its Shorewood location in suburban Milwaukee is offering him all the Butterburgers and custard he can eat.
Players still turn to food delivery apps for familiar standbys (Ruth’s Chris, Chipotle, regional favorites like Chick-fil-A), but in-room dining is often the simplest (and sometimes the safest) option available for players who know the ins and outs of the scene. Even players who prefer to dine out tend to be versed in room service fare after staying at the same luxury hotels season after season. “It’s well known throughout the league that the Memphis room service has always been a step below some of the other hotels,” says Washington’s Robin Lopez. “But that’s OK, because at least pre-COVID, you made up for it by having great barbecue options all over.”
Johnson filled 12 dozen bags with Chick-Fil-A chicken sandwiches and nuggets, bottled water and bags of chips. He spent nearly three hours handing them out with his mother, his father Gil and his brothers Donovan and Braylon alongside Hyde Elementary principal Joe Johnson, food service director Christie Leininger and school counselor Neil Tkatch.

According to a press release, Tobias Harris will donate to Habitat for Humanity of Philadelphia to provide three months of mortgage payment assistance to 12 families experiencing financial hardship in North and West Philadelphia. He’ll also give lunch on Tuesday to 250 health care workers at Temple University Hospital in a partnership with Chick-Fil-A. The final component of Harris’ charitable contributions is a donation of 20,000 children’s books for home libraries in Philadelphia through the Read by 4th program. It's a fitting donation for Harris, a proud and voracious reader.
On Thursday, John Wall, in conjunction with the John Wall Family Foundation, surprised doctors and nurses at UNC Rex Hospital in Raleigh, North Carolina and MedStar Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C. with a donation of 2,300 N95 masks to aid their efforts in fighting the COVID-19 pandemic. Wall also partnered with Chick-Fil-A to provide approximately 600 meals for front line workers and first responders at each location.
Joseph is contributing to two causes, one of which is helping to provide meals for victims of domestic violence, along with their children, and sex trafficking. He is donating 250 meals from the Arden Fair Chick-fil-A in partnership with the nonprofit WEAVE. “After talking to Harrison Barnes, he was telling me what he was trying to do to help, so we were brainstorming, and it just felt like the right thing to do and join my teammates — Bogi (Bogdan Bogdanovic), De’Aaron (Fox), Harrison and Richaun (Holmes) — in trying to donate the meals,” Joseph told The Athletic. “And joining Chick-fil-A to donate to families that have been victimized by domestic violence and sex trafficking of children as well to help out in communities where it’s much needed. To partner with WEAVE and do that is just amazing.”
