Roy Hibbert: Not trying to jinx anything. But I can see the @Pacers making it out the east this year. Special team here.
Alex Golden: Tyrese Haliburton on recording 3 blocks in a game for the 3rd time this season: “I appreciate that Alex, thank you for recognizing that…so it goes: Myles Turner, Rik Smits, Jermaine O’Neal, Roy Hibbert, Tyrese Haliburton. That’s how it’s gonna end when I’m done here…but in my mindset, I’m the 5th best shot blocker in franchise history and you can’t tell me different.”
Jorge Sierra: Stephen Curry passed Reggie Theus and John Lucas in steals to become No. 31 on the all-time list. Also: LeBron James moved ahead of Roy Hibbert in blocks for No. 71 in NBA history and Luka Doncic passed Pete Maravich in assists for No. 166.

His performances on that end of the floor played a major role in Hibbert being a two-time All-Star for the franchise. He was the anchor of two squads that reached the Eastern Conference Finals. The Pacers traded him away in 2015 after acquiring him during the 2008 NBA Draft. "After I got traded, I was like 'forget y'all'. But at the same time, time heals all wounds and everything like that. I'm always going to be a Pacer no matter what," he shared on Wednesday before the Pacers took on the Wizards. He was happy to be back.
Now, he works for CBS as a college sports analyst, a job he enjoys and can do while raising his young kids. It's his second year in the role, and part of what he enjoys about it is the prep work. It's very similar to what he did in the NBA to prepare for games — he watches teams play. For CBS, it's the teams he is about to analyze. As a player, it was his opponents. Between his NBA days and joining CBS, Hibbert was on staff with the Philadelphia 76ers. He was willing to work his way up the coaching ranks, but he didn't enjoy having to babysit players. "I'm okay. If I can't help coach you and push you, I think that I'm okay," he said.

Evan Sidery: Frank Vogel is one of the best defensive tacticians in the NBA. Consistently has his teams elite on that end of the floor. Vogel also puts a heavy emphasis on rim protecting bigs (ex: Roy Hibbert and Anthony Davis). The big question now pivots to whether Deandre Ayton is a fit…
Roy Hibbert: I think @Becky Hammon would make a great head coach in the @NBA. I think she should be up next for a HC job.
Etan Thomas: “What happened with Roy Hibbert? He was doing well and then it just went south.” David West: "It was a mental thing. It was all mental. Roy played basketball a lot of years because he was big. He was made to play, and then he developed a love for the game much later -- and actually, it wasn't until he was in the NBA that he really got a love for the game. In Indy, we had it situated perfectly. And for him, Frank [Vogel] is the most positive [person]; he's gonna coach you up regardless of what you’re doing. He's gonna coach you up, and that's what Roy needed. He had Roy playing the best basketball of his career, and that was all Frank. Because there were games where big fella was out of it; his timing was off and he got into a couple bad funks, but Frank was able to keep him steady.
