If you go back and look at when the Lakers were able to beat them in 2020, the only reason they were able to beat them is because they had three guys that they could throw at Joker with length: Dwight Howard, JaVale McGee, and obviously, at times, Anthony Davis. They were able to throw length at Joker — length after length after length — and that’s why they were ultimately able to take the Nuggets down then, but haven’t been able to take the Nuggets down since. So Rudy’s doing a great job. You have to give him credit. In saying that, Joker’s still getting a lot of the shots he wants, but the length is bothering him. But he also can make these shots. So, yes, he could come out and go for 40 tonight. That does not mean Rudy hasn’t been causing him to have a tough time. The length is what he does have some problems with, if he has any problems at all.”

Dwight Howard: Woke up today on the 12th of this month and I figured it’s time to move on from Superman! Im no super human… I cry ! I struggle! I feel like everyone else. Through the lies, the media and the hate I still show love and Smile Through The Storm. Former NBA star Dwight Howard filed for divorce from his wife Amber Howard -- hours after she made bombshell accusations against him online, TMZ has learned. According to court docs obtained by TMZ, Dwight filed for divorce on Monday morning. He listed the date of marriage as January 11, 2025, but said they are not separated, with no hope of reconciliation. Dwight said the marriage was “irretrievably broken.” He noted that they had no children.

Jeremy Lin spent one year on the Lakers during the 2014-15 season, which was Bryant’s penultimate season in the league. During a recent episode of Dwight Howard’s “Above the Rim” podcast, Lin dished on one incident that led Bryant to ice him out for several months. The Taiwanese-American guard recalled a disagreement he had with Bryant during a late-game situation that year. Bryant was supposedly telling Lin to foul intentionally, while then-Lakers head coach Byron Scott urged Lin not to. The conflicting advice kept Lin from fouling right away. Lin noticed Bryant display negative body language toward him over the incident, prompting the point guard to text his superstar teammate after the game. “I texted him, ‘Hey man, I don’t appreciate the body language,’ Lin recounted to Howard. “And he came back with a sharp response, and I came back at him. “It ended cordial, where I ended up saying, ‘I’m not saying you can’t teach me. You’re obviously a hundred times the player that I am. I want to learn anything and everything I can from you. I’m just asking if, could you just say and do it in a way that’s respectful to me as a man.'” According to Lin, Bryant initially responded positively, saying he understood the message and even gave him specific areas to work on. Lin then revealed that Bryant didn’t speak to him “for the next five months.”

I mean I cannot say like Kevin Durant, but no one's trying to make Kevin Durant be Dwight Howard through his career. They were like making him strong in the movements and letting him to grow into who he is. Marcin Gortat to Dwight Howard: Nikola Jokic is an unbelievable big man and probably by the numbers, by certain things, he's probably better than you. By the respect and obviously championship and everything, he might be better than you. But I'm always saying one thing: He will not play this game if you were defending this guy (Dwight). They don't understand the defense… Jokic can do stuff offensively but defensively he’s got to stop Dwight! Marcin Gortat: What was going through your mind going from being number one in Orlando to the Lakers where you're going to be number two. Dwight Howard: I was excited. I didn't even look at it as being one or two. That wasn't even my goal. Like coming into the team, I'm looking at it like, okay, I'm the youngest out of all the vets that I'm seeing. I see Kobe, Steve Nash, Gasol, Antawn Jamison… So for me, I'm looking at Kobe like, ‘All right, how much can I learn from him and the rest of these guys?’ Because obviously I feel like they're going to be closer to retirement than I am at this time in my career. So how can I learn from Kobe? How can I learn from Steve? What can I get from these guys? But at the time, I feel like, I wasn't getting anything. I don't know if they were thinking I wanted the ball every play or they were worried about what was being said. But I came in with the attitude like, I know Kobe going to have to get his plays, but we got Steve Nash, me and him going to get into pick and rolls because that's what me and him do best is to pick and roll action. Then we got Kobe who's the closer. So, I'm not tripping. But I think the media start twisting and turning every little situation into, oh man, they don't like each other, this, that, and the third. And I'm like, how can I not?
