You'll be a free agent this summer. Jock Landale: Yeah, I mean, I've loved my experience here in Memphis, and obviously, I'd love for that to continue as it is, and whether or not that's the case is kind of something that'll be figured out in a couple of months, and there's an element of not having control over that, I suppose. So I really try not to think about it too much, and I'm just going to let that take its course however it may. Look, there are a lot of games left, right? So I have to continue to keep my head down, just focus on that one game at a time, and then we'll see where things finish in 50 games.

What has been the key this season to being more on the floor and contributing as well as you do? Jock Landale: Opportunity. Opportunity is everything. Coach Tuomas Iisalo has provided me with such, and I've really enjoyed the opportunity of playing with guys like Santiago Aldama. Just the ability to have a coach that kind of has faith in me and allows me to go out there and make mistakes and learn from them and continue to grow at 30 years old is something that's kind of unique to my situation here. And I think I always had confidence in the fact that I was going to be able to provide this kind of impact off the bench or even in a starting role at times this year. I think it was just whether or not I was going to get that opportunity that I might have been losing hope a little bit. So, at 30 years old, to be able to do this and provide impact, and probably the best year of my career has been reinvigorating, and I always knew that I'd be able to do so if given that chance.

What’s your take on all the Australian basketball talent currently pouring into the NBA? Jock Landale: I just think that there's so much talent coming through, and the opportunity to come and play in the NBA is something that people really strive for now and see as a possibility. 10-15 years ago when when there was one or two Australians in the NBA, you kind of looked at it as something that wasn't really achievable and now we've got, you know, 12 guys in at any one time, you realize, crap, we can I can go and do this if I really buckle in and go about my career the right way, continue to develop, and the thing that Aussies hang their hats on are really appreciated in the NBA. So now people more than ever really buy into that kind of picture of what we are, and there's always a place for that on any team.

Kellan Olson: The Grizzlies without Morant, Coward, Edey, Clarke, Jerome, Pippen and Konchar just beat the Spurs the night before hosting the Suns. Great years for former Sun Jock Landale and Cam Spencer. Landale had 19-9. Spencer hit the game-winner with 21-7-8 and 0 turnovers.

Damichael Cole: Tuomas Iisalo says Jock Landale is trending towards playing. More depth in the frontcourt for Memphis tonight.

Damichael Cole: Jock Landale has been downgraded to out due to right calf soreness, per the Grizzlies. Jaren Jackson Jr. and Christian Koloko will likely occupy the minutes at center. Memphis is now without Zach Edey, Brandon Clarke and Jock Landale at center tonight.

Damichael Cole: Memphis just picked up its second win of the season against a team over .500. Jock Landale and Jaren Jackson Jr. both had their first double-doubles of the season. The Grizzlies have a chance to get to .500 on the season against Washington on Saturday after starting 4-11.

Damichael Cole: Zach Edey didn’t come back in the game. I asked Tuomas Iisalo about this after the game. He mentioned how long it took to get Landale in, how well Landale/Jackson played in the final minutes, and he added that Edey is still on a “minute recommendation.”
