Malachi Flynn is expected to be the new naturalized player for the Turkish national team, according to Umit Avci. The news was announced during the “Fast Break” show of Sports TV in Turkey on the first day of 2026.

The former NBA player currently competes for Bahçeşehir Koleji, being a standout both in the Turkish BSL league and in the BKT EuroCup. Flynn is expected to join the team for the upcoming FIBA Qualifying “Windows” in February and March, and then in the two upcoming summers “Windows”, in July and August, the Turkish national team may have the chance to pair him up with Alperen Sengun.

Malachi Flynn, who played for the Toronto Raptors, New York Knicks, and Detroit Pistons, has signed with Bahçeşehir Koleji, marking his first move to European basketball. The 185 cm (6’1″) guard, drafted 29th overall in the 2020 NBA Draft, made headlines in April 2024 with a 50-point explosion off the bench against the Atlanta Hawks — one of the top three such performances in NBA history.
