Brisbane star Josh Bannan has confirmed he will declare for the NBA Draft, following an exceptional debut season in the NBL. Bannan worked out with the Indiana Pacers prior to his rookie campaign with the Brisbane Bullets, and was one of the Boomers’ top performers in their recent FIBA Asia Cup qualifiers against Indonesia and South Korea. “My name will be going into the draft this year,” Bannan told News Corp. “I had that workout (with the Pacers) and I felt like I did a great job, and I feel confident I could stick it at that level.”

The FIBA Central Board has announced the continuation of the mandate of Kirilenko as well as fellow co-opted members Richard Carrión of Puerto Rico and Erick Thohir of Indonesia, both members of the International Olympic Committee. But the International Federation revealed that the decision on Kirilenko would "take effect subject to the decisions of the International Olympic Committee and FIBA in relation to the war in Ukraine".

This year’s group includes legendary players Yao Ming (China), Penny Taylor (Australia), Yuko Oga (Japan), Katrina McClain (USA), Amaya Valdemoro (Spain), Wlamir Marques (Brazil), Angelo Monteiro dos Santos Victoriano (Angola), Sony Hendrawan (Indonesia); with both Carlos Loyzaga (Philippines) and Zurab Sakandelidze (Georgia) being inducted posthumously. The Class also includes deserved recognition for coaching duo Valerie Garnier (France) and Alessandro Gamba (Italy).
