The Kings, desperate for a franchise centerpiece who could usher in a new era, were already locked in on Memphis’ Tyreke Evans as the leading prospect. In a twist of cruel irony, Evans’ agent at the time was one of the future architects of the Warriors’ dynasty, Bob Myers.
