League sources believe Wilson would be an easy pick for Chicago if he gets to No. 4. The Bulls worked out other players, including Darius Acuff Jr., Kingston Flemings, and Nate Ament, but it would be a significant upset if any of them were selected here.

Q. Have you ever been asked as a in consultant role or even just in conversation about how you would address what they should do next or what they should do first? Kendall Gill: No, I' I've never been asked those questions. Q. What would you tell them? Gill: I would tell them exactly what I just told you. And then I would also tell them that, and I know it's going to take a lot of money. I've discussed this with you guys as well. I know it's going to take a lot of money, but I would definitely try to go back after Ayo Dosunmu as well. And I know that Ayo, from my conversations with him this summer, would be open to it, but it's going to take a lot to get him back. But that's what I would do.

With the draft less than a week away, the Bulls have signaled a willingness to move up from the No. 15 pick, according to NBA executives who spoke with HoopsHype. Chicago also has significant cap space this summer. However, that doesn’t necessarily mean the Bulls will be looking to make a big splash in free agency. As Chicago embarks on a rebuild, the Bulls are open to absorbing contracts with their cap space in exchange for draft pick compensation, HoopsHype has learned.

On the other hand, Duren is only 22 and coming off an All-Star regular season, and cap-room teams like Brooklyn and Chicago will be circling with offer sheets if the Pistons get cold feet. A five-year, $200 million deal would value him at $40 million a year and keep him in Detroit through much of his prime; that feels like a potential endpoint.
Dwight James: Sources tell me that Tiago Splitter's contract with Chicago is for three years, with a fourth year on a team option. It is believed to be at the league average, salary-wise. The average salary for NBA head coaches at this time is just under $7 million per year.

Chicago Bulls: OFFICIAL: Tiago Splitter has been named our new head coach. Welcome to Chicago, Coach Splitter!
The Bulls, league sources say, have begun bringing select candidates to Chicago for in-person interviews this week following the team's array of virtual meetings in search of the successor to Billy Donovan as head coach. Trail Blazers acting coach Tiago Splitter, Hawks assistant coach Ryan Schmidt and Timberwolves assistant Micah Nori are among the Chicago finalists, sources say.

Bulls great Stacey King died after a fall at his home, ESPN Chicago’s David Kaplan said. King, 59, died Sunday, though an official cause of death has not been disclosed. “Absolutely devastated to hear that Stacey King has passed away at the age of 59 after a fall at his home,” Kaplan wrote on X. “He made watching the Bulls, no matter good season or bad so much fun. God bless you, my friend. RIP.”

League sources believe Wilson would be an easy pick for Chicago if he gets to No. 4. He’s an athletic player with great positional size who plays with physicality and would fit nicely if the Bulls continue to operate an uptempo offense under the coach whom new general manager Bryson Graham hires. Graham loves players with high-end athletic traits and length, having been a part of drafting many of them in New Orleans during his time there.

Jonathan Wasserman: Darius Acuff Jr. is in Chicago today working out for the Bulls, per source. Worked out for the Nets on Wednesday and has the Jazz and Bucks next. Lot of scenarios in play for Acuff as a potential top-5 pick and trade up/back target.

Michael Scotto: The Chicago Bulls are adding Alex Kaufman as Windy City Bulls general manager and Jarrett Sutton as a scout, league sources told @hoopshype. Kaufman and Sutton worked with Bulls executive Bryson Graham for six years with the New Orleans Pelicans.

Mikel Brown measured and tested well in Chicago and appeared fully healthy at his pro day workout, helping assuage concerns around the back injury that limited him at Louisville. He was medically cleared by the NBA this week, worked out for Utah on Wednesday, and plans to visit the Bulls and Clippers, among others, with interest from guard-needy teams further down in the lottery.

Carmelo Anthony explains why he avoided joining the Chicago Bulls: "And a little birdie told me that shit was about to break up in Chicago. So, I didn't want to walk into that. You didn't want to go to no bullshit. Yeah, it was just like, it was a lot of business that wasn't handled. Contracts, people leaving, and coaches were leaving, it was whispers. So I didn't want to deal with that. And I was already comfortable here, so the only place I'd have left for would have been Chicago."

Jovan Buha: “I think there will be competition for (Austin Reaves) services. If I'm Brooklyn or Chicago, I think he's, I mean, Brooklyn drafted a million point guards and ball handlers last year, but I don't think any of them project to be as good as Austin Reeves currently is. I think the sweet spot is probably going to be around five years, 200 million. But if you get that number down to around 35 million average annual, that's where I could see someone, Brooklyn, Chicago, Memphis, come in and outbid them by a little bit.”
