Jake Fischer: Josh Giddey is in Las Vegas, but has noticeably been absent from both Bulls games at Summer League. Several veterans just sat courtside here. Certainly seems like an indication that negotiations between the point guard and Chicago are not trending in an amicable direction.
The workout took place on June 21 at the end of what had been an exhausting week for the 6-foot-11, 235-pound prospect. Beringer had already had workouts in San Antonio, Memphis and with the Bulls in Chicago that week, and his legs were feeling a little rubbery by the time the Timberwolves scrambled to get an up-close look at him less than a week before the draft. On the first two attempts to dunk it from the stripe, his legs just weren’t quite there. “I was tired,” Beringer said with a chuckle. “The last one I said, I need to finish a good workout. And that was it.”
“I never got to see him play, but when I was growing up he was still doing appearances,” Dylan Harper said of his father. “I remember we went to Chicago for All-Star Weekend (in 2019) and that was probably the best All-Star Weekend ever. It was up there. To be in the back rooms and to see superstars walking around like regular people was crazy to me back then. We played Bryce [James] in New York, LeBron’s [James’] son, and I saw the connection between [my father and LeBron James] both being from Ohio. If [my father] sees someone in the league, they all know each other. It is like a brotherhood in a way.

Julia Poe: The Bulls have announced the full summer league roster. A couple notable items — Matas Buzelis is playing (as confirmed on draft night); Javon Freeman-Liberty is back; and Yuki Kawamura will be suiting up for Chicago.
“There was some chatter yesterday that like Jonathan Kuminga situation has gotten off to an extremely slow start. He's not seeing money on the market. Um, you know, it's going to take a while, but like if Kuminga, you know, finds himself without his ideal options, which I think Miami is topping that list. I think Chicago's in there, you know, then, you know, keep your eye on that a little bit.
First up on Chicago's to-do list is to re-sign Josh Giddey, a restricted free agent who is expected to command a salary near $30 million annually, sources told ESPN. The move to acquire Giddey in a player-for-player trade, without any additional draft compensation, looked a lot like the deal the team made last week when it swapped Lonzo Ball (age 27) for Isaac Okoro (age 24) from Cleveland.

The Bulls are not currently chasing Porziņģis, league sources say, although some rival teams have been openly wondering if they might. Chicago is known, at the very least, to be evaluating the overall state of its center rotation with Nikola Vučević, after a strong season, having been pursued as a trade target since last February's in-season trade deadline and now, at 34, entering the final season of his contract at $21.5 million.
Sources say that Chicago has as an ongoing interest in the 22-year-old forward. This tracks with past interest that the Bulls have shown in Jonathan Kuminga in previous trade discussions with Golden State over the past two seasons involving players such as Alex Caruso, Zach LaVine and Nikola Vučević.
Bulls on CHSN: "From my seat they've got to try to look to trade either Ayo Dosunmu or Coby White." Bulls Insider @KCJHoop joined The Chicago Lead to discuss if the Bulls should consider trading Coby White and how the Desmond Bane trade might impact their decision 👀. "I've been saying for a while in my from my seat, they've got to try to look to trade either Ayo or Coby because I think it'll be very hard to re-sign both of them after next year when they both have unrestricted free agency. So I think you got to get out in front of things like that. What's crazy is they value both those players highly, and they obviously are a big part of how they want to play stylistically, to your point, the stylistic change. So I think that'd be a tough decision to make but that's a front office's job, to make hard decisions."
