Grant Hill: These guys are great players. These guys are students of the game, I think they respect the game, they want to be remembered I think as the greatest US Men's National Team. I just want a gold medal, I don't care where the team is ranked, but I I just think there's some pride there and there's a competitive spirit. They know they got to first of all win and get the job done, but I think that's the mentality of these guys and it's been fun to watch.
Langston Galloway was named as a member of the 2024 USA Select Team, which trained alongside the USA Men’s National Team during training camp. After Team USA’s training camp, Galloway, Micah Potter and Nigel Hayes-Davis accepted invitations to serve as practice players for USA Basketball’s senior men’s national team during exhibitions in Las Vegas, Abu Dhabi and London in preparation for the Paris Olympics. All three’s role is to participate in USA’s practices, workouts and even exhibition games when needed before the Olympics. “Langston has been great,” USA Basketball managing director Grant Hill told Andscape. “He was with us last year during our World Cup run as well. He really understands the FIBA game, having played professionally in Europe and being a member of our World Cup qualifying teams. He, Micah and Nigel play an important role in our overall preparation for Paris. We are thankful for their presence and contributions to our team’s success.”

After his standout rookie season, Kessler earned an invitation to play for the 2023 USA Men's National Team this summer in the FIBA World Cup. "It was unbelievable," Kessler said of the tournament in the Philippines. "Wearing the U.S. flag, I had so much pride. It was like a dream. Representing your country and the people back home, it was a lot of fun."
Charles Barkley was back to his usual antics on TNT’s Inside the NBA, as he made another one of his classic guarantees. This time, Chuck guaranteed that the USA would beat the Netherlands… somehow. “We openin’ up a can of whoop-a**, I guarantee the Netherlands in trouble!” Barkley hilariously exclaimed as Shaquille O’Neal and Kenny Smith burst out laughing. Not only did Charles Barkley doom the USMNT to a likely defeat, he also called out other powerhouse footballing nations in the process should USA even manage to pull off the unthinkable. “I want Spain, I want Brazil, I want Germany, I want France,” Barkley added. “But we’re gonna beat the Netherlands.”

Langston Galloway signs with G League's College Park Skyhawks
Michael Scotto: NBA veteran Langston Galloway has signed with the College Park Skyhawks of the G League, league sources told @HoopsHype. Galloway recently scored 23 points in a Team USA World Cup qualifying game against Colombia.

Following four days of training and Friday night’s USA Blue-USA White intrasquad exhibition game in Las Vegas, USA Basketball announced 17 finalists for the 2019 USA Basketball Men’s World Cup Team. The 17 include 13 athletes from the USA National Team roster and four players from the USA Select Team. Finalists include 2016 Olympic gold medalist Harrison Barnes (Sacramento Kings); Marvin Bagley III (Sacramento Kings); Jaylen Brown (Boston Celtics); De’Aaron Fox (Sacramento Kings); Joe Harris (Brooklyn Nets); Kyle Kuzma (Los Angeles Lakers); Brook Lopez (Milwaukee Bucks); Kyle Lowry (Toronto Raptors); Khris Middleton (Milwaukee Bucks); Donovan Mitchell (Utah Jazz); 2014 World Cup gold medalist Mason Plumlee (Denver Nuggets); Marcus Smart (Boston Celtics); Jayson Tatum (Boston Celtics); P.J. Tucker (Houston Rockets); Myles Turner (Indiana Pacers); Kemba Walker (Boston Celtics); and Derrick White (San Antonio Spurs).

Eric Woodyard: Utah executive VP of basketball operations Dennis Lindsey is on-site to check out Donovan Mitchell during Day 1 of USA National Team training camp in LV. The Jazz front office see Mitchell being here as a positive with excitement for his opportunity, per a Deseret News source.
The 15-member USA National Team training camp roster and the 14-member USA Select Team will open training camp Aug. 5 at UNLV’s Mendenhall Center. Daily practices will be held Aug. 5-8 and will be capped by a USA Blue-USA White exhibition game that is scheduled for Aug. 9 (7 p.m. PDT) at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, which will feature members of the World Cup training and USA Select teams.
