Who was the toughest person to play in the NBA? Sergio Rodriguez: I’ve been very lucky in my career to have great teammates around me. It would be very hard to say one or another. And the same with opponents. I have played against some of the best of the history in the NBA: Kobe Bryant, LeBron James… Many, many of the guys that dominated the game for many years. Also here in Europe, we have Kyle Hines, who I play against and with… Vassilis Spanoulis, Juan Carlos Navarro, teammates like Felipe Reyes, Rudy Fernandez, Sergio Lull. So I’ve been very lucky.
After saying goodbye to two senators such as Chacho Rodriguez and Rudy Fernandez, and losing Guershon Yabusele to the NBA, Real Madrid enters the market with heavy feet: the first choice is Cedi Osman. This is what has been learnt by Sportando, and not only, in these hours. Forward class 1995, product of the Anadolu Efes junior team, Cedi Osman comes from seven NBA seasons, six with the Cleveland Cavaliers and one with the San Antonio Spurs.
Spain went down against Canada (83-85) and the legendary forward conveyed his feelings after the contest that saw his team finish 4th in the group and get eliminated from the Olympics knockout stage. "Sadness and peace," Rudy said, summing up his mental state. "Peace. It's time to be quiet with the family. And sadness because I have experienced so many things with this national team and with my clubs, and that there are no more tournaments or trips. I'm going to miss this team," the captain said via MARCA's Eugenio Munoz.
Ben Golliver: Spain coach Sergio Scariolo on Rudy Fernandez after his final game: “I’ve been blessed to coach him… [I saw] him never giving up or surrendering to the physical gaps he had at the 3 position with any opponent he had to face during his career. So competitive and committed.”

The new Minnesota Timberwolves swingman is playing in his fifth Olympics for Australia, and in his first game, he faced Rudy Fernandez, who made history by participating in his sixth Olympics Games. “It’s tiring,” Ingles joked when asked if he would try to match the record. “It’s impressive to play at that level for six Olympics, still being able to contribute and play a good role on that team. I hate playing against him and am kind of waiting for him to retire.”

Fernandez scored nine points and hit a triple late in the game before Spain coach Sergio Scariolo substituted him so that the crowd, teammates and opponents could give him a well-deserved standing ovation.
