Musselman was in the middle of his first year coaching the Reno Bighorns, and his team was toward the end of a 110-96 win over the Idaho Stampede. Musselman’s squad was relatively loaded, featuring future NBA regulars in Jeremy Lin, Danny Green, Hassan Whiteside and Steve Novak. During his lone year in Reno, Musselman, now the University of Arkansas coach, led a team that still has its fingerprints on the NBA nearly a decade later, from the court to front offices.

Mike Qualls: My time at the University of Arkansas has not only helped me grow as a basketball player, but also as a man and I'm very thankful for the guidance the coaching staff and everyone at the university has given me over my three years. After sitting with my family I felt the best decision for me is to continue my basketball career as a professional. I'm ready to provide for my family and my son. I can't say thank you enough to the Razorback fans. Coming in as a kid from Louisiana the embraced me from the start like I was one of their own and have always shown me an amazing amount of support. That means a lot to me and I'll forever be a Razorback.

As comfortable as he feels here now, Moncrief wasn't sure what to make of Milwaukee when the Bucks drafted him fifth overall in 1979. He arrived as a 6-foot-4 All-American guard who'd starred at the University of Arkansas. He was born and raised in a hardscrabble section of Little Rock, and the extent of his travels to that point were with a Razorbacks team that had advanced as far the NCAA Final Four in 1978. "I didn't know what to expect," he said. "I was a southern guy from Arkansas and we played most of our games in the south, so I didn't know much about Milwaukee when I was drafted. There was no Internet, so you couldn't Google Milwaukee. "As a matter of fact, I think I went to the encyclopedia to look up information about Milwaukee."

Joe got back into the news with the truck this weekend as he met up with kiddie campers on the University of Arkansas (he's a product) campus, and though I'm sure there were plenty of questions about Joe's footwork on a 1/3 screen and roll and just where exactly he thinks the BRI should end up in the upcoming labor negotiations this November (smart kids, these are), that didn't stop a few of them from wondering about the truck, along with a zing: During a Q&A session Johnson was asked by a kid attending camp: "How much did you pay for your car?" Johnson, of course, declined to answer. Johnson was later asked by an incoming basketball player why he "makes more than Kobe [Bryant]."
