Nuggets assistant coach Ryan Bowen is set to replace Andre Miller as head coach of the G League affiliate Grand Rapids Gold next season, team sources told The Denver Post. Miller is leaving on his own terms to pursue other coaching opportunities, one source told The Post. He coached the Gold for the last three seasons.
He has donated hundreds of thousands of dollars for research and helped raise even more. On April 12, Karl was honored by St. Jude Children’s Hospital at a 240-person gala held at the Denver Art Museum. He was presented with the 2025 Inspire Award for his fundraising efforts, and the celebration included a video presentation with recorded messages from former players Andre Miller and McMillan and former assistant and current Orlando coach Jamahl Mosley.

“I would think he would be more connected just because it’s required when you’re a player of that caliber,” said Andre Miller, who played for the Nuggets in the early 2000s and again a decade ago. He added: “I think he approaches it as, I’m just a basketball player. Mild-mannered. He goes and plays ball and he goes home. So it makes his job a little easier and it keeps all the distractions out.”
Jokic rarely does interviews outside of mandatory news conferences, where he gives mostly anodyne answers. He has a deal with Nike but does not have a signature shoe. He doesn’t host a podcast, and his politics are a mystery. He has appeared in a handful of commercials in Serbia. Jokic said recently that basketball was “not the most important thing” in his life and probably never would be. “I would think he would be more connected just because it’s required when you’re a player of that caliber,” said Andre Miller, who played for the Nuggets in the early 2000s and again a decade ago. Jamal Murray (4x), Andre Miller (1x) and JR Smith (1x) are the only other Nuggets to score at least 16 in a 4th over that span. @ESPNStatsInfo #nba pic.twitter.com/O3Tcbx2vAs
Andre Miller: “Oh she’s going to definitely be the first female NBA head coach,” he said. “It’s just a matter of time. I wouldn’t be surprised that when Pop does decide to retire that she’d be next in line. It’s a perfect situation. She knows the community, she knows management, and she’s reliable and she expects it. It’s easy to make that transition. She’s primed and ready.” (For the record, several of Popovich’s former assistants and players have gone on to be NBA coaches and two are general managers.)
