Eric Nehm: FINAL: Cavaliers 123, Bucks 116 - Porter 25pts/3reb/10ast - Dieng 19pts/5reb - Rollins 19pts/3reb/4ast - Portis 19pts/9reb/4ast - Nance 13pts/7reb The Bucks are now 28-40 on the season. They next play on Thursday in Utah.

Bobby Portis: And being a Buck the last six years, when you lose one game, it’s heavy on your shoulders. When you lose two or three games, it’s really heavy. You feel it. Not necessarily in the sense that you think you’re getting traded or whatever it is, but you definitely feel it. At the same time, you just try to be a pro. Being a pro every day is coming in and putting the work in. Literally, the only thing you can control is your work ethic and your attitude every day. As long as your work ethic and your attitude are good, then everything else that happens is just part of the journey. Everybody’s journey is going to be different.”

Tony East: From Doc Rivers: Giannis Antetokounmpo is playing, Ousmane Dieng is out, Bobby Portis is playing, Myles Turner is playing

Eric Nehm: The Bucks have submitted their first injury report for Thursday’s game in Miami: Out: Alex Antetokounmpo (two-way) Cormac Ryan (two-way) Questionable: Kevin Porter Jr. (right knee synovitis) Bobby Portis Jr. (thoracic spine contusion) Jericho Sims (right patella tendonitis)

While he has remained the Milwaukee Bucks’ starter at center, Myles Turner has played significantly fewer minutes in the 10 games played after the All-Star break (22.7 per game) than he did in 50 games before the break (28.6). Before playing 32 minutes in Tuesday night’s 129-114 loss to the Phoenix Suns, with both Jericho Sims and Bobby Portis sidelined, Turner hadn’t played more than 25 minutes in any post-All-Star-break game. That change in minutes distribution has left Turner trying to find a rhythm to make an impact in a more limited role.

“I’m trying to figure it out, man. Honestly, I’m trying to figure all that out,” Turner said after shootaround on Tuesday. “Some days, I’ll play 22 (minutes). Some days, it’s 28. I think everybody in the organization is trying to figure it out — just different lineups, different combination of guys. “At times, we like to go with switching lineups, so they put Jericho (Sims) or Ous (Ousmane Dieng) or Kuz (Kyle Kuzma), one of those guys at my position. But all I can do is go out there, just stay consistent, put my work in every single day, just to be available and be healthy. And whatever’s asked of me to do, just go out there and do.”

When asked about Rivers’ decision not to play him against Boston, Kuzma told reporters that Rivers had not discussed it with him beforehand. “At the end of the day, Doc is the final arbiter,” Kuzma said. “He can make decisions on whatever he wants — and rightfully so, he’s the coach. That’s not my job to worry about. My job is to come out and just be a professional. That’s who I am, that’s who my character is and play when my number is called.”

“Speaking of Giannis, on a scale of 1 to 10 — 10 being no doubt about it, 1 meaning it’s a possibility he’s gone — how confident are you that Giannis will be in a Bucks uniform next year?” Bobby Portis: “10 is what?” Host: “10 is no doubt in your mind.” Bobby Portis: “Uh, I’m at a five, bro. I’m right in the middle. Yes, sir … For real, it’s up in the air, man. “Obviously, just being here, our goal just isn’t to make the play-in, right? The goal isn’t to just make the playoffs. Since I’ve been here, since 2020 during the pandemic, the goal has always been championship. “So, I don’t know what that outlook is for next year. I don’t know what Giannis and his staff are going to put together to make the roster better, make us better, so we can compete for championships next year. I don’t know that.

Bobby Portis: “But if you ask me that question, I would say it’s right there in the middle. Obviously, when the season’s over, if you’re a basketball fan, you know what’s going to go on. Since I’ve been here since 2020, like I said, each and every summer, once our team is eliminated or whatever, the conversation is going to get brought up again, and it’s going to be a super lingering thing all summer long, especially leading up into the draft. “So, I guess we’ll have to see, man. But I think it’s right there at that five, six, seven mark.”

Do you think Doc will coach past the season?” Bobby Portis: “Do you get paid? Do you get paid if you retire? Like if you got one more year on your contract and you get paid. Nah, I don't think Doc walking away from that 15 16 M. You know what I'm saying? That's a lot of bread. Just walk away from say you don't want it. Like you don't want it at all. Like let's just be for real. That's a lot of bread, man."
