The Jazz have downgraded Brice Sensabaugh (illness) to out for Monday’s game against San Antonio. Isaiah Collier (right quadriceps contusion) is available.

Isaiah Collier’s second NBA season has been delayed, but a return is on the horizon. The Utah Jazz’s young point guard has been sidelined for weeks with a hamstring injury, making him miss time during training camp, the preseason, and now the regular season. But the Jazz announced Thursday that Collier is ready to get back on the court.

While the Jazz are gone, Collier will be assigned to the SLC Stars, the Jazz’s G League affiliate, starting Friday to get back into game condition. The Stars are currently in training camp with their G League season beginning Nov. 11 at the Delta Center at 10:30 a.m. MST against the Santa Cruz Warriors.

Andy Larsen: Long list of practice non-participants today for Jazz: Isaiah Collier (right hamstring soreness), Kyle Filipowski (low back), Walker Kessler (left shoulder soreness), Lauri Markkanen (left wrist contusion), & Georges Niang (left foot, fourth metatarsal stress reaction) all out.

Andy Larsen: Last year, the Jazz did their press conference with Cody Williams, Isaiah Collier, and Kyle Filipowski on the Tuesday after the draft, so waiting a few days is not uncommon. I'm told to still expect that press conference on or before that this year with Ace Bailey.

Multiple team sources, interviewed by The Athletic, provided some answers. Utah isn’t currently sure where it will take its roster once the offseason hits. But, it can go one of two ways. One is to build around forward Lauri Markkanen with a veteran-laden core. In that case, expect the Jazz to hit the market and attempt to secure veteran help to bolster their roster. The other way is to double down on the Jazz’s many young players on their roster: Keyonte George, Isaiah Collier, Walker Kessler, Taylor Hendricks and Kyle Filipowski, along with last year’s lottery pick, Cody Williams.

Andy Larsen: Isaiah Collier out again tonight.

NBA Communications: Other nominees... West: Donovan Clingan (POR), Isaiah Collier and Kyle Filipowski (UTA), Zach Edey (MEM) and Quinten Post (GSW) East: Matas Buzelis (CHI), Justin Edwards (PHI), Alex Sarr (WAS), Jamal Shead (TOR) and Kel’el Ware (MIA)

Isaiah Collier on being omitted from the Rising Stars team: ‘I mean for me I don't even think I accepted it yet to be honest. It's just the fact that I was looked over, but I mean I can't dwell on it, feel bad for myself about it, so just going out there, I think I came back rookie of the month that month, it was just continue to just play. You got to get better regardless, so I think it helped me even more, it added fuel to the fire to be honest, and just continue to work.
