Sources also expressed doubt that the Jazz would reach an agreement on a rookie contract extension with guard Keyonte George despite the franchise's optimism that he will play a key role in Utah's future after his breakout third season.

George is already in line for a major payday in rookie scale contract extension talks this offseason after a breakout third season and sources say that the Jazz prize him as an absolute cornerstone now. Bailey, meanwhile, is situated as a scoring guard in Utah's system for coach Will Hardy, who will of course also trot out a supersized frontcourt starring recent All-Stars Jaren Jackson Jr. and Lauri Markkanen.

The irony of Peterson’s camp revealing his preference for the Wizards is that Utah is the cleanest fit for him of the three teams at the top of the draft. The Jazz see him as a shooting guard who can play point guard. Behind the scenes, there is some concern on Peterson’s side that he and Jazz point guard Keyonte George share the same agency. But the Jazz firmly believe the two can play together.

Though Peterson described himself as a point guard at the NBA Combine, league sources believe Utah views the Ohio native as a potential backcourt partner for Keyonte George, sharing playmaking duties.

Sources say that the Jazz, who have the emerging Keyonte George at the forefront of their backcourt, are not currently regarded as a possible landing spot for Morant with Memphis widely expected to resume its efforts to trade him in the coming weeks. However … I am starting to hear predictive murmurs that the Grizzlies will find a wider trade market for Morant than they did in February when external interest was extremely minimal.

Utah Jazz On SI: Keyonte George on his expectations for the Jazz next season: "I expect every day to be fun. Things have went the way they've went the past couple of years. But I think for us now... we all have a common goal." Can they make the playoffs? "For sure. No doubts about it."

Utah Jazz On SI: Keyonte George on his relationship with Kevin Love: "K-Love's been around my GOAT. So, it's been a pleasure just to ask him so many questions." "He's big time for me. He empowers me every single day... That's the type of vet that I love to have around."

Tim Bontemps: Utah Jazz guard Keyonte George has a grade two right hamstring strain, sources told ESPN. He’s expected to be reevaluated in two weeks. George has had a breakout season in his third year in the NBA for the Jazz, averaging 23.6 points and 6.1 assists in 54 games for Utah.

Once Williams was off the court, a number of Jazz players rewatched the play with some of the Jazz coaching staff and screwed their faces into grimaces when seeing the injury and what caused it. “Obviously devastated for Vince,” Keyonte George said. “Everybody’s gonna have their own opinion (about the play), but can’t really look into it too much. These plays, just running down the floor ... just a freak accident, honestly.”

Andy Larsen: Keyonte George is out vs Miami tomorrow due to his sprained ankle. (Kessler still out with shoulder surgery). Still no one else on the injury report besides those two.

Shams Charania: The Jazz make a major swing for Jackson and team him with Lauri Markkanen, Keyonte George, Walker Kessler and more. The move signals a full rebuild for the Grizzlies around its promising young core and now as many future first-round picks as any team in the NBA.
