Will Eudy: Just left from Hornets shootaround. Hornets are retiring Dell Curry’s jersey tonight, and I asked Miles Bridges about being part of an organization that honors their legends. “I love being here, and I see why guys like being here in Charlotte … For them to honor the legends like that, it’s a good thing, and this man gone be next (points at Kemba Walker).”

Victor Wembanyama had 32 points, 12 rebounds, eight assists and three blocks in his return from a one-game absence, leading the San Antonio Spurs to a 115-102 victory over the Charlotte Hornets on Saturday. Miles Bridges had 22 points and Kon Knueppel added 20 for Charlotte, which had won two straight and eight of 10.

Will Eudy: I was just at Hornets shootaround and asked Miles Bridges about playing in front of a loud, sold-out crowd every night: “I’m not used to this. It’s usually just a couple games like Warriors, Lakers, Knicks. But now, guys are coming to games against Portland. Portland’s a good team … But people don’t show up to those types of games. So I’m happy for the fans that they get to experience this.”

Q: I want to get your quick thoughts on the Hornets, because they’re surprisingly the hottest team in the NBA right now. They’re running on all cylinders. Thoughts on them? Could you see them making the playoffs at this point? Muggsy Bogues: Absolutely. The guys have been playing well. Health is the key, if the guys are healthy with LaMelo, Miles, Miller, Kon and Diabate all on the same floor at the same time. A lot of success has been having those guys. Unfortunately, we have the suspension, but I still think they bounce back. They just got a big win against Atlanta. I think the guys are really looking forward to the last stretch of the season.

Bobby Marks: Suspension amounts: Isaiah Stewart: $724,138 Miles Bridges: $689,655 Jalen Duren: $89,423 Moussa Diabate: $62,641

Owen O'Connor: Miles Bridges and Moussa Diabaté have both been suspended for four games. They will be eligible to return on February 24th against the Bulls in Chicago.

Shams Charania: NBA suspensions for the Pistons-Hornets fight, sources tell ESPN: Isaiah Stewart: 7 games, Miles Bridges: 4 games, Moussa Diabate: 4 games, Jalen Duren: 2 games

That buy-in from Ball has become a top-down effect. Lee’s insistence on sharing the ball has resulted in drops in field-goal attempts from the likes of Ball, Brandon Miller and Miles Bridges — and increases in true shooting percentages for the latter two (Ball’s has remained the same). A significant chunk of that is tied to the presence of rookie Kon Kneuppel, the sharpshooting phenom with playmaking and shot creation chops having a historic rookie season, but the Hornets work because everyone touches the ball. They’re not tied to a heliocentric system as they have been in the past. Charlotte is league average in terms of passes and assists per game, but ranks in the top five in secondary assists — the pass before the pass.
