The Atlanta Hawks have remained resistant to including the Pelicans’ 2026 unprotected first-round pick and former No. 1 pick Zaccharie Risacher in trade conversations for Davis, as previously reported by HoopsHype. While Atlanta could still consider trading the expiring contracts of Kristaps Porzingis and Luke Kennard, the Hawks aren’t in a rush to make a deal happen with Davis hurt again, HoopsHype has learned.
Atlanta Hawks: An @emoryhealthcare injury report for tomorrow’s game at Golden State: Kristaps Porzingis (left Achilles tendinitis): Questionable N’Faly Dante (right knee, torn ACL): Out Zaccharie Risacher (left knee inflammation): Out

After the game, Young reportedly spoke with the team. “It was deep,” Zaccharie Risacher said. “It was a lot of emotions… He let us know he was always going to be there for us no matter what and he was going to be happy to see us succeed, and that's how we feel about him too. “I just got here last season but I feel like it's a legacy and I've been lucky to be a part of it.”

In trade discussions with the Mavericks regarding Anthony Davis to this point, the Hawks have resisted including former No. 1 pick Zaccharie Risacher and the Pelicans’ unprotected 2026 first-round draft pick via the Derik Queen trade, league sources told HoopsHype. Atlanta has labeled the unprotected 2026 first-round draft pick from New Orleans as virtually untradeable heading into the deadline, HoopsHype has learned. The Pelicans are currently tied at 14 percent for the highest odds of winning the lottery with the Indiana Pacers and Sacramento Kings. Meanwhile, Dallas and other teams around the league have called to inquire about Risacher, league sources said.

We also noted last week that "it is also increasingly believed that Atlanta is willing to surrender Zaccharie Risacher in the proverbial right scenario" ... but sources with knowledge of Atlanta's thinking have signaled this week to multiple outlets — including this one — that the Hawks do not believe an in-season swing for Davis meets those parameters when it comes to 2024's No. 1 overall pick.

Yet while the Mavericks are known to be pushing for young prospects (and expiring contracts) in talks relating to Davis, Hawks sources pushed back hard on reports that they’d be willing to include 2024 No. 1 pick Zaccharie Risacher. While the second-year small forward has struggled in his second season, team officials are quick to point out the highlights from the tail-end of his rookie season that inspired such optimism about his development internally.

It is also increasingly believed that Atlanta is willing to surrender Zaccharie Risacher in the proverbial rightscenario, since the No. 1 overall pick in the draft just 18 months ago has not developed as the Hawks would have hoped to this point. Yet even if the Hawks are prepared to package Risacher with the expiring contracts held by Kristaps Porziņģis and Luke Kennard for Davis, it is unclear how much additional draft compensation they would be willing (or able) to add to the deal to convince the Mavericks part with Davis in-season.
