Patrick Beverley won't be appearing on Barstool platforms anytime soon -- Dave Portnoy just revealed the former NBA player is "taking forced time away" following his arrest for felony assault. The Barstool Sports founder explained his employee's status during "The Unnamed Show" on Wednesday ... saying Beverley -- who has a the "Hoopin' N Hollerin'" podcast with the company -- has "gotta figure all this out." "We'll let the facts play out," Portnoy said. "Certainly, with what is hanging there, we can't have him be part of what we're doing right now, and we got to see how it settles, but this is horrible." "If there's any truth to it, he won't be back at Barstool."
During a segment this week on The Unnamed Show, a podcast in which Portnoy gives updates about the business of Barstool, Portnoy revealed that Beverley is sidelined at the company until there is a resolution to Beverley’s legal situation. From Portnoy’s comments, it sounds as if Beverley came to him prior to TMZ releasing the Richmond, Texas, police report with his own versions of events. Beverley even recorded a podcast about the situation, in which police allege he assaulted his younger sister, and it was posted momentarily on the Hoopin and Hollerin feed. But once Portnoy saw the police report, which he called “horrific,” he contacted Beverley and put him on hiatus.
“He is taking time, forced time, away from Barstool, and we’ll see,” Portnoy said on The Unnamed Show. “If this turns out somehow not true, we’ll let the facts play out. Certainly with what is hanging there, we can’t have him be part of what we’re doing right now. And we’ve gotta see how it settles. But this is horrible, how it read, and if there’s any truth to it, he won’t be back at Barstool.”
Michael Porter Jr: Pat Beverly said that a WNBA team could beat the bench players of an NBA team. Lonzo Ball: I’m going to give you the most honest answer, and I know Michael feels the same way. I don't know if he said this or not, but I'm going to say I'm going to speak my piece. And I mean this as respectfully as possible, but ninth grade Lonzo Ball in the WNBA is going crazy. So, I would say after ninth grade, no. But before that… Cuz look, in ninth grade, I'm over six feet and I'm dunking. Like, I'm coming through like… No girl in the WNBA is doing that. I'm going back door, throw it up. I'm looking like Michael Jordan out there!
Patrick Beverley's legal team is disputing the allegations that led to his felony assault arrest ... with his attorney claiming the ex-NBA player's sister's side of the alleged incident is not accurate. Letitia Quinones-Hollins tells TMZ Sports the details laid out from Beverley's 15-year-old sister to cops in the probable cause affidavit were "given at a time when emotions were high" and don't tell the truth or the complete story. "Patrick is not a violent man and was not violent that night," Quinones-Hollins said Tuesday. "In fact, he was very respectful with the authorities that night and encouraged others to do the same."

Lauren Conlin: 🚨BREAKING: Former NBA Star Patrick Beverley, arrested on November 14th for an assault on a family member (impeding breath), was charged with a 3rd-degree felony but remains unindicted. The probable cause warrant was posted today, detailing the allegations from that night. According to the probable cause affidavit, Beverley’s 15-year-old sister had snuck out to meet her boyfriend; when she returned, their mother called Beverley to the house, where he allegedly grabbed the girl by the neck with both hands, lifted her off the ground, squeezed for 20–30 seconds until she couldn’t breathe, carried her while still choking her, slammed her against walls, laid her on a couch, stood over her and punched her once in the left eye, and told her he would “be the family member that kills” her. Deputies observed visible neck marks and petechiae (burst blood vessels) in the whites of her eyes, consistent with strangulation. Beverley is innocent until proven guilty, and this is a developing case. @LAmag

Chris Finch: That’s the beauty of the Play-In Tournament — it creates a one-game-means-everything situation, which we don’t often see in the NBA. We were fortunate enough to put ourselves into that position. And we had a team that — and this is mostly down to Patrick Beverley, I’ll give him that — when he stepped into our locker room on day one, he made a team full of young guys believe they could be good. That is what he brought to our team more than anything else." "He brought a lot of other stuff too — technicals, delay-of-games, sure... interesting film sessions.

Jason Williams continued to question the fellow former NBA star about his hot take. “Deeper than the bench from where? NBA?” he asked. When Beverley responded, “Yeah,” Williams doubled down on his disbelief. “No, deeper than that. 1994 DuPont High School in West Virginia [Williams' high school basketball team] would beat the WNBA All-Star team today.” Beverley insisted that “the Aces are beating y'all.” He didn't let up on Williams. “A'ja Wilson is giving Big Billy problems.” Williams then stood ten toes down to defend his point. “And what's Jay Williams doing to Wilson on the pick-and-roll?” he said back. “If she's getting 30, I'm getting 60!” Williams was so sure of his opinion that he boldly claimed, “I'm willing to bet my life.”
Stunned, the rest of the players sat there, looking at each other, unsure what to do. “We’re like, ‘Yo, what the fuck is going on?’” one recalled. Westbrook rose next. So, we all leaving? he asked. Nah, Russ, said Patrick Beverley, a brash veteran point guard the Lakers had acquired over the summer. We gotta stay. Westbrook didn’t understand. What do you mean? he asked. Them two guys can do whatever the fuck they want, Beverley said. They won a championship.
