The woman had an abrasion on her chin, a swollen lip, a small bruise on her forehead and an abrasion to her left shoulder, the report said. She told police that Dalembert has been “drinking excessively” and “not acting like his normal self” recently. The woman’s cousin said he had to intervene to keep Dalembert from striking her, the report said. Dalembert then allegedly attacked the 26-year-old man, grabbing him by the neck and putting him in a choke hold, throwing him to the ground and head-butting him, the report said.

The Mavericks got some good news on Sam Dalembert, who was suffering from a swollen left knee. Carlisle said he expects Dalembert to resume practicing on a limited basis Monday. "We're just dealing with aches and pains that we got to get through," he said.

The Mavs have signed center Samuel Dalembert, bringing the big man back to the Big D after one season in the Big Apple. Dalembert, 34, started in the middle for Dallas during the 2013-14 season, appearing in 80 games and averaging 6.6 points and 6.8 rebounds per game. Following the season, he was traded to the Knicks with Jose Calderon, Shane Larkin, and Wayne Ellington for Tyson Chandler and Raymond Felton. In 32 appearances for struggling New York, he scored 4.0 points and grabbed 5.3 boards a night.
Free agent center Sam Dalembert has agreed on a one-year, $1.4 million veteran’s minimum deal with the Dallas Mavericks, a league source told Yahoo Sports. Dalembert played for coach Rick Carlisle two years ago in Dallas, and will get an opportunity to play a significant role at center for the Mavericks.
