Josh Robbins: The Wizards' injury report for their game Saturday in Charlotte has Marvin Bagley III (thoracic strain), Bilal Coulibaly (lower back strain), AJ Johnson (illness), Tristan Vukcevic (hamstring strain), Cam Whitmore (DVT) and Trae Young (MCL sprain/quad contusion) as OUT. Khris Middleton (left foot soreness) is QUESTIONABLE.
Washington Wizards: Update: Marvin Bagley III (illness) and Bilal Coulibaly (lower back strain) are now out for tonight's game. AJ Johnson and Khris Middleton have been upgraded to available
Middleton, 34, has shown some signs of life lately, but no longer looks like a potential difference-maker for a contending team. The majority of league sources whom The Athletic spoke with said they think Middleton’s most likely outcome is to remain with the Wizards through the deadline and be a buyout candidate.
It’s common knowledge that President Barack Obama is a basketball fanatic with a nice jumper. But did you know that late Civil Rights leader Martin Luther King Jr., could hoop, too? The story of how MLK and Obama used basketball to make connections is revealed in “Hoops, Hopes & Dreams,” a documentary debuting on Hulu today on Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

“I liked everything about it,” Washington Wizards forward Khris Middleton told Andscape after the film was shown to his teammates at the National Museum of African American History and Culture on Jan. 8. “First of all, its basketball. Two of the most important people of our lifetime, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Barack Obama are playing basketball and also using basketball as a vehicle to encourage people to come out and support their movements, what they were doing and support what they were fighting for. When I watched it at first, I was like, ‘There is no way Martin Luther King was a hooper.’ All hoopers love hoopers. We’ve seen the documentation and videos of Barack playing. But to know that Dr. King played is pretty cool.”
Middleton said it was a no-brainer to join as a producer after being invited by Alexys Feaster. Middleton said he has seen the movie five times and gave Feaster feedback after viewing it. His sister, Brittney, also was one of the producers. “Alexis brought this to my attention and I did some research on it,” Middleton said. “We sat and talked about it and I decided this was an easy, ‘Yes,’ with a lot of the things I’ve been involved in the past and was currently. I thought it was a perfect first film to produce.”

Austin Krell: Wizards have ruled out: - CJ McCollum - Khris Middleton - Kyshawn George - Will Riley - Cam Whitmore - Sharife Cooper - Jamir Watkins Meanwhile, on Sixers' side: all of Joel Embiid, Kelly Oubre Jr., and Trendon Watford have been upgraded to PROBABLE.

Coach Brian Keefe did not play Cam Whitmore a single second in the Washington Wizards’ 131-116 loss to the Atlanta Hawks on Saturday night. It seemed like a bewildering decision. Because of injuries, the Wizards were missing Bilal Coulibaly, Khris Middleton, Corey Kispert and Tre Johnson, all of whom are wings, as Whitmore is. Washington entered the game with a 3-18 record. It couldn’t have benefitted from playing Whitmore? What on earth was going on? “We have certain standards that we have for our team,” Keefe said. “He has to live up to those on the better, and he’ll have a chance here. But that’s going to be up to him when that time comes, and he has to meet the standards and expectations that we have for him as a team.”

Josh Robbins: The Wizards have listed Kyshawn George (left big toe contusion) as questionable to play tonight in Philly. Out are: AJ Johnson (G League assignment), Tre Johnson (hip flexor), Corey Kispert (thumb), Khris Middleton (second night of a back-to-back), Alex Sarr (adductor strain), Jamir Watkins (two-way) and Sharife Cooper (calf).

Marc Stein: Khris Middleton chips in 15 points in support of CJ McCollum’s 28 and the 2-16 Wizards move to 3-16 with a 129-126 victory over Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Bucks. Good timing on this @JakeLFischer gem of a convo with Middleton: http://tinyurl.com/3m63b33e
Josh Robbins: The Wizards have listed Bilal Coulibaly as out for Friday night’s game against the Cavs. Coulibaly missed most of Wednesday's second half because of tightness in his lower left leg. Khris Middleton, who was out the last two games, is not listed and should be available to play.
