Anthony Chiang: Heat says Tyler Herro (left quad soreness) remains questionable for tonight vs. Wizards. He's going to warm up and see how he feels. Heat already without Kel'el Ware, Nikola Jovic, Norman Powell, Terry Rozier, Andrew Wiggins and Jahmir Young tonight.

Ira Winderman: Kel’el Ware now out for Heat tonight vs. Wizards with a shoulder strain. Tyler Herro now questionable due to quad soreness. Powell, Wiggins, Jovic still out. Keshad back. Trae now out for Wizards.

“We know how impactful he can be on both sides of the floor, and that’s the benefit and the luxury of having someone like him,” Heat guard Tyler Herro said of Adebayo. “He can come out there on any given night and have zero points, 15 rebounds, eight assists, and then he’s locking up on the defensive end. So every night is going to be different. It’s just about, like I said, coming in here every single day with an open mindset to whatever it may be and just continue to get better.”

NBA Communications: San Antonio Spurs forward-center Victor Wembanyama and Miami Heat guard Tyler Herro have been named the NBA Western and Eastern Conference Players of the Week, respectively, for Week 20 of the 2025-26 season (March 2-8).

Tyler Herro scored 25 points, Bam Adebayo had 24 to go over the 10,000-point mark for his career, and the Miami Heat beat Detroit 121-110 on Sunday night to extend the Pistons' season-worst losing streak to four games. Jaime Jaquez Jr. had 19 points and seven assists for Miami (36-29), which has won five straight and matched a season best by moving seven games over .500.

Hunter Bailey: The Hornets drop a hell of a game against the Heat tonight, 128-120. Tyler Herro went absolutely nuclear (35, 9 & 9). Hornets big three combine for 70 but not enough. What a game.

The Heat has outscored opponents by 8.5 points per 100 possessions with Ware on the court during the past seven games after being outscored by 1.6 points per 100 possessions with Ware on the court during the Heat’s first 56 games this season. “I mean, people forget Kel’el is 21 years old, like second year in the league,” Heat guard Tyler Herro said. “There are going to be ups and downs. He’s still learning. The best thing about Kel’el is he wants to learn, he wants to be great. And there’s going to be ups and downs. You see tonight his potential that he could tap into, seven blocks. It should have been eight. And he’s continuing to get better.”

Even after Saturday’s verbal spat, Miami Heat guard Tyler Herro insists his respect for Houston Rockets forward Kevin Durant remains intact. “I got respect for him, and we got respect for each other,” Herro said. “It’s just competition at the end of the day. We both were trying to give a little spark to the game. It was a low scoring game at the start, and we just wanted to get it going a little bit.”

“He was saying I couldn’t guard, and I said something to him,” Herro said ahead of Tuesday night’s matchup against the Brooklyn Nets at Kaseya Center. “But we’re competing. At the end of the day, you want to be able to play against the best players in the world and be able to compete like that. That’s what I live for. I love to compete.”
