Edey and Cedric Coward are the only Grizzlies players who should be deemed safe leading up to the deadline. Both were recent first-round picks for the Grizzlies, who believe they can be crucial pieces to a new-look core going forward.

Chris Herrington: Tuomas Iisalo confirmed that Zach Edey's recent absence from the team was due to a medical consultation out of town but that he would be making the trip to London/Berlin with the team. Edey's condition is due an update from the Grizzlies. Iisalo said that was coming but he wasn't sure exactly when.

Kellan Olson: The Grizzlies without Morant, Coward, Edey, Clarke, Jerome, Pippen and Konchar just beat the Spurs the night before hosting the Suns. Great years for former Sun Jock Landale and Cam Spencer. Landale had 19-9. Spencer hit the game-winner with 21-7-8 and 0 turnovers.

Damichael Cole: Jock Landale has been downgraded to out due to right calf soreness, per the Grizzlies. Jaren Jackson Jr. and Christian Koloko will likely occupy the minutes at center. Memphis is now without Zach Edey, Brandon Clarke and Jock Landale at center tonight.

Damichael Cole: The impact of losing Zach Edey.. Memphis was outscored 24-14 in second chance points against Utah. Lost the rebounding battle for the first time since Nov. 24th against Denver. Edey left that game early in the first quarter.

Shams Charania: Memphis Grizzlies center Zach Edey will be re-evaluated in four weeks with a stress reaction in his left ankle. "This is a management plan to optimize Zach's long-term health in consultation with the Grizzlies and medical experts," Mark Bartelstein of @PrioritySports tells ESPN.

Damichael Cole: Zach Edey recently told me that he was dealing with some soreness after games in his ankle, but it didn’t sound like major thing. Not sure if this is related, but this is a major gut-punch after Memphis started going on a run with Edey back.

Thankfully for all involved, it sounds like Iisalo will be leaning into Jackson Jr.'s offensive skillset a bit more now that Edey is settled into the rotations. “There are several components there that make (Jackson Jr.) a great player,” noted the Finnish tactician. “He is a very good player on the perimeter, very good player on the inside, it's just a matter of time before (his stats) are up again.”

Damichael Cole: Zach Edey didn’t come back in the game. I asked Tuomas Iisalo about this after the game. He mentioned how long it took to get Landale in, how well Landale/Jackson played in the final minutes, and he added that Edey is still on a “minute recommendation.”

NBA Communications: Other nominees... West: Zach Edey (MEM), Anthony Edwards (MIN), Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (OKC), Jamal Murray (DEN) and Austin Reaves (LAL) East: Desmond Bane (ORL), Jaylen Brown (BOS), Tyler Herro (MIA), Jalen Johnson (ATL) and Pascal Siakam (IND)

Justin Russo: Zach Edey was a +39 for Memphis tonight. The Grizzlies won in OT. It is the highest plus/minus ever by a player in an OT game since tracking began in 1996-97.
